Gundam's New Official Apparel Collection Turns Classic Anime Into Premium Fashion

Bandai has unveiled a brand-new premium apparel range for its STRICT-G fashion label with the introduction of “STRICT-G The Animation,” a collection that transforms classic scenes and characters from the original Mobile Suit Gundam into high-quality everyday clothing.

STRICT-G is Bandai’s official Gundam fashion brand, producing clothing and lifestyle collections that blend the franchise’s iconic Mobile Suits and characters with contemporary fashion aimed at fans who want to incorporate Gundam into their everyday wardrobe.

The Animation represents a new direction for the brand by focusing on authentic artwork from the anime itself rather than stylized reinterpretations, while placing a strong emphasis on Japanese craftsmanship and premium construction.

Each shirt in the collection is manufactured in Japan using premium cotton fabric, with careful attention given to the material, stitching and silhouette to create clothing that feels as refined as it looks.

The Gundam T-Shirt, priced at ¥8,800 (approx. $56 USD / £41 GBP), features the RX-78-2 Gundam in a striking blue colorway with artwork drawn directly from the original television series.

The Char’s Zaku II T-Shirt, priced at ¥8,800 (approx. $56 USD / £41 GBP), pairs Char Aznable’s legendary crimson Mobile Suit with a rich burgundy body that complements the machine’s famous color scheme.

The Amuro Ray T-Shirt, priced at ¥8,800 (approx. $56 USD / £41 GBP), celebrates the original Gundam pilot with character artwork inspired by his appearances throughout the anime.

The Char Aznable T-Shirt, priced at ¥8,800 (approx. $56 USD / £41 GBP), focuses on Gundam’s most iconic rival, capturing the commanding presence that helped establish Char as one of anime’s greatest antagonists.

The Katz, Letz and Kikka T-Shirt, priced at ¥8,800 (approx. $56 USD / £41 GBP), pays tribute to the trio of White Base children whose journey alongside Amuro and the crew became an important part of the original series.

Alongside The Animation collection, STRICT-G has also introduced an entirely different apparel concept with the debut of “STRICT-G GRAFFITI,” a new line that reimagines classic Mobile Suits through bold, spray paint-inspired artwork and contemporary street fashion styling.

Rather than reproducing scenes from the anime, the GRAFFITI collection uses vibrant layered graphics and high-impact printing to give each design the appearance of large-scale urban artwork while retaining the instantly recognizable silhouettes of Gundam’s most famous Mobile Suits.

The Gundam T-Shirt, priced at ¥5,830 (approx. $37 USD / £27 GBP), presents the RX-78-2 Gundam through colorful graffiti-style artwork that gives the hero Mobile Suit a fresh contemporary look.

The Char’s Zaku II T-Shirt, priced at ¥5,830 (approx. $37 USD / £27 GBP), transforms Char Aznable’s iconic red machine into a dynamic spray paint-inspired design full of energy and movement.

The Zaku II T-Shirt, priced at ¥5,830 (approx. $37 USD / £27 GBP), completes the launch lineup by applying the same artistic treatment to Zeon’s mass-production Mobile Suit, balancing military styling with modern street art influences.

All three GRAFFITI shirts are produced using heavyweight 6.2 oz cotton fabric and specially developed printing techniques that help preserve the vibrant colors and layered effects.

Pre-orders for both the STRICT-G The Animation and STRICT-G GRAFFITI collections open through the STRICT-G Online Store on Premium Bandai Japan from August 7, with The Animation arriving at STRICT-G stores across Japan on August 8, GRAFFITI following on August 11, and both collections currently scheduled to ship during August 2026.

Bandai has not yet confirmed whether either collection will receive a full international release, however, several of the T-Shirts are currently available to order on their Premium Bandai US store.
