HoYoverse opens beta test applications for newly announced Honkai: Nexus Anima

The next major installment in the popular Honkai video game series has been officially revealed by the developer HoYoverse.
The new title, Honkai: Nexus Anima, was fully unveiled today, Friday, the 29th of August, following a surprise initial tease in May.

This new game is the latest in the series that includes the hit titles Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail.
The genre of the new game is described as an “Anima Raising Strategy Game.”

Players will take on the role of a traveler who explores an unknown world, forming bonds with and fighting alongside creatures known as “Anima.”
The first in-game footage has been released, which showcases a variety of gameplay features.

The footage shows a player character riding an Anima through a modern city, using an Anima to destroy objects in the environment, a character creation system, and a strategic, “auto chess-style” battle system.
The game will feature a cast of original characters, and it has also been confirmed that alternate versions of established characters from other Honkai games, such as Kiana and Blade, will appear.

To coincide with the full reveal, recruitment has begun for the game’s first, small-scale closed beta test.
The “Nexus Link Test” will be held on PC and iOS, and will allow a select number of players to experience the game for the first time.

The application period for the closed beta test is currently open on the game’s official website and will run until the 12th of September, 2025.
A final release date and the full list of official platforms for Honkai: Nexus Anima have not yet been announced.
