Hellsing’s Official Alucard Replica Sunglasses Return for Limited Time Re-Release
One of the most recognizable accessories associated with Hellsing’s iconic vampire Alucard has returned, with EyeMirror reopening sales of its officially licensed “Alucard Model” sunglasses.
The eyewear recreates the distinctive sunglasses worn by Alucard throughout the series and was developed under the supervision of Hellsing creator Kouta Hirano to closely capture the look seen in the manga and anime.
Originally serialized beginning in 1998, Hellsing follows the conflict between supernatural forces and the Hellsing Organization, a secret British institution dedicated to eliminating vampires and other threats to humanity near the end of the twentieth century.
At the center of the story is Alucard, the Hellsing Organization’s most powerful weapon, whose trademark red coat, wide-brimmed hat, and distinctive eyewear have become instantly recognizable among anime fans.
The “Alucard Model” sunglasses are a revival of a release that was previously offered in a strictly limited run of 150 units during 2022.
Unlike the earlier edition, the newly available version does not feature an individual serial number, and therefore it’s assumed that the total number of units available will exceed the initial 150 made available back in 2022.
One of the most striking features of the eyewear is its red mirror lens design, which shifts in appearance depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions.
Despite the vivid exterior finish, the view from inside the lenses remains a comfortable grey tone, allowing for everyday use without dramatically altering visibility.
The frames combine titanium and acetate materials to balance durability and comfort while maintaining a premium feel, and they are also compatible with prescription lenses for those wishing to use them for regular wear.
The sunglasses come complete with a custom-designed glasses case and a matching cleaning cloth.
Though EyeMirror has not confirmed the number of overall units of the “Alucard Model” sunglasses that are available, purchases are limited to one pair per customer to ensure that fans have the best chance of snagging a pair.
The “Alucard Model” sunglasses are priced at ¥36,300 (approx. $245 USD/£180 GBP) and became available again from June 20 through the EyeMirror online store, as well as EyeMirror’s Ikebukuro and Osaka locations and the Animegane specialty collaboration eyewear store in Akihabara.
