Gundam’s Best Alternate Universe Series Collide for Exclusive New 30th Anniversary Collection
Bandai has officially revealed a first look at a new Gundam Ichiban Kuji that will bring together Mobile Fighter G Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing and After War Gundam X for a shared 30th anniversary prize collection.
The first prizes revealed for the new “Ichiban Kuji Gundam G・W・X 30th Anniversary” place a particular focus on Gundam X, with new figures of the Gundam Double X and Tiffa Adill joined by collectibles based on mobile suits from all three anime.
Ichiban Kuji is Bandai’s lottery-style merchandise format, with fans purchasing entries for the chance to receive prizes from different tiers rather than buying each item separately.
The format also includes a special Last One Prize, which is typically awarded to the person who purchases the final remaining ticket at a participating location.
G Gundam, Gundam Wing and Gundam X originally aired consecutively between 1994 and 1996, with each moving the franchise away from its established Universal Century setting and into a completely separate world, story and cast.
G Gundam replaced large-scale military conflict with the Gundam Fight tournament, Gundam Wing followed five young pilots sent to Earth from the space colonies, while Gundam X moved into a post-apocalyptic setting devastated by the events of the 7th Space War.
The early focus on Gundam X comes as the series celebrates its 30th anniversary, with Bandai already marking the occasion through several new projects including a premium METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Double X figure and new merchandise based on Garrod Ran, Tiffa and the series’ mobile suits.
The first prizes confirmed for the new Ichiban Kuji include:
- A Prize – “Gundam Double X BUSTISAN”
An approximately 18 cm bust figure of Garrod Ran’s upgraded mobile suit.
- B Prize – “Tiffa Adill MASTERLISE”
An approximately 22 cm figure of Gundam X’s heroine.
- E Prize – “MS Head Magnets”
Five randomly distributed designs based on God Gundam, God Gundam in its Hyper Mode appearance, Wing Gundam Zero, Gundam Epyon, and Gundam X.
- Last One Prize – “Gundam Double X BUSTISAN Twin Satellite Cannon Ver.”
An alternate version of the A Prize that displays the Double X with its Twin Satellite Cannons deployed.
The three anime have already been brought together elsewhere during their overlapping anniversary celebrations, with Bandai releasing dedicated 30th anniversary soundtrack collections for G Gundam, Gundam Wing and Gundam X throughout 2026.
G Gundam’s celebrations have also included a new “30th Anniversary Fighting Movie” that brings God Gundam back for a martial arts battle created using modern 3DCG, alongside a new METAL BUILD figure recreating its golden Hyper Mode appearance.
Image by Charlotte DavisGundam Wing received its own newly animated “-operation30th-” anniversary video, revisiting Heero Yuy and the other pilots with fresh animation set to a new version of “RHYTHM EMOTION”.
Gundam X has meanwhile continued Garrod and Tiffa’s story through the new sequel manga “Gundam X FLASH”, while Bandai has also turned the anime’s G-Controller into a life-size PROPLICA collectible as part of its anniversary plans.
Several prize tiers have yet to be revealed, meaning Bandai still has more of the “Gundam G・W・X 30th Anniversary” lineup to announce ahead of its launch.
Each draw will cost ¥900 (approximately $6 / £4), with the new Gundam Ichiban Kuji scheduled to launch through Ichiban Kuji ONLINE and official Ichiban Kuji stores in Japan from February 26, 2027.
