Gundam X's New Official 30th Anniversary Wireless Earbuds Feature 72 Exclusive Garrod and Tiffa Voice Lines

After War Gundam X is getting a new pair of official wireless earbuds for its 30th anniversary, with Garrod Ran and Tiffa Adill returning to provide 72 newly recorded voice lines especially for the occasion.

Created by Japanese audio brand Onkyo, the limited-edition “CP-TWS01F GUNDAMX” uses a single pair of earbuds with three selectable voice modes dedicated to Garrod, Tiffa, and conversations between the two characters.

The release arrives during a particularly active period for Gundam X, which is celebrating 30 years since the anime originally began airing in 1996 with new figures, Gunpla, merchandise, and other commemorative projects.

It also continues Onkyo’s growing range of Gundam audio collaborations, following its recently announced Gundam Wing CP-TWS01F earbuds featuring newly recorded lines from all five Operation Meteor pilots, alongside previous releases based on series including Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam SEED FREEDOM and Iron-Blooded Orphans.

For the new Gundam X model, Garrod and Tiffa each receive 23 individual phrases, while the third mode adds 26 lines featuring interactions between the pair for a combined total of 72 newly recorded voice clips.

The dialogue replaces conventional system sounds across functions including powering the earbuds on and off, Bluetooth pairing, touch controls and switching noise cancellation modes, with users able to change between the three character settings by tapping the earbuds.

Onkyo has also incorporated several recognizable Gundam X references into the hardware itself, placing the series title and a reflector-inspired motif across the charging case.

The individual earbuds continue that approach with separate White Dolphin and G-Controller graphics, referencing two particularly recognizable elements associated with Garrod and Tiffa’s story.

The collaboration uses Onkyo’s latest CP-TWS01F platform, which is powered by Qualcomm’s QCC3072 chipset and supports SBC, AAC, aptX, and aptX Adaptive audio codecs.

Qualcomm TrueWireless Mirroring is also included to improve connection stability and balance battery consumption between the left and right earbuds, while Bluetooth 5.3 supports pairing with up to four devices.

Active noise cancellation is joined by an ambient sound mode and dedicated low-latency game mode, making the earbuds suitable for music, video, and gaming rather than functioning solely as a character merchandise release.

Battery life reaches approximately 8.5 hours during normal playback, dropping to around six hours with active noise cancellation enabled or 7.5 hours when using the low-latency game mode.

The earbuds also carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating for protection against sweat and light rain, although the charging case itself isn’t water-resistant.

Two matching Gundam X accessories will launch alongside the earbuds, including a 15W wireless charging pad featuring an original collaboration design and an earbud pouch carrying the anime’s 30th anniversary logo.

The “CP-TWS01F GUNDAMX” wireless earbuds will be priced at ¥22,000 (approx. $141 USD / £104 GBP), while the wireless charger costs ¥4,400 (approx. $28 USD / £21 GBP) and the earbud pouch is priced at ¥1,500 (approx. $10 USD / £7 GBP).

Orders for the earbuds will open through ONKYO DIRECT at 3:00 PM JST on September 4 and remain available until October 30, 2026, with shipments expected to begin between late December 2026 and mid-January 2027.

The earbuds will also go on display at the ONKYO DIRECT ANIME STORE in Akihabara from September 4, where visitors will be able to test both the sound quality and newly recorded character voices before ordering through a dedicated in-store QR code.
