Rakuten has officially launched a new limited-edition American Express credit card featuring Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto Shippuden.

The “Rakuten American Express Card Limited Edition NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Design” has been created in partnership with VIZ Media, with a special design available to just 10,000 new cardholders in the United States.

Created by Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, introducing readers to a young ninja who dreams of becoming Hokage, the leader of his village.

The manga received its first television anime adaptation in 2002, followed by Naruto Shippuden in 2007, which continued Naruto’s journey as he faced increasingly powerful enemies and attempted to reunite with his former teammate Sasuke Uchiha.

Their complicated relationship, which develops from childhood friendship into an intense rivalry, remains one of the central storylines throughout the series.

Rakuten was originally established in Japan in 1997 and has since expanded into a major international business, including its US-based cashback shopping platform, which rewards customers for purchasing products through participating retailers.

The new collaboration with VIZ Media introduces Naruto and Sasuke to the brand’s existing American Express credit card, replacing its standard appearance with a specially illustrated design featuring both ninjas.

The card retains the same financial features as the standard Rakuten American Express Card, allowing customers to earn cashback rewards on eligible purchases.

One of its main benefits is an additional 4% cashback on qualifying purchases made through Rakuten, which can be combined with the regular cashback offers available through the platform.

Customers can also earn a total of 10% cashback at participating Rakuten Dining restaurants, 2% on grocery and restaurant purchases elsewhere, and 1% on other eligible spending.

The additional 4% Rakuten cashback rate is subject to an annual spending limit, with the full rewards structure and exclusions outlined in the card’s terms and conditions.

Cardholders also receive access to selected American Express Network benefits, including shopping and dining offers, entertainment experiences and certain purchase protections.

Although the card uses the American Express network, it is issued by First Electronic Bank and operated through payment technology provider Imprint.

Naruto has inspired a wide range of other licensed merchandise, including an official Rasengan-themed electric guitar announced earlier in 2026.

Naruto Shippuden also previously partnered with Converse for a limited-edition collection of sneakers and apparel, featuring designs inspired by Naruto, Sasuke, Itachi and other popular characters, which launched through the brand’s US store in 2025.

The limited-edition Rakuten card is available exclusively to the first 10,000 new cardholders who accept an eligible offer, with applications having officially opened on October 15, 2026.

Existing Rakuten American Express cardholders cannot immediately switch to the Naruto design, although they can register their interest through a notification list to receive updates about possible future availability.

The card has no annual fee, and eligible new customers can also receive a $100 welcome bonus after spending at least $1,000 on qualifying purchases within their first 90 days of account approval.

Applications are available through Rakuten’s official Naruto Shippuden American Express Card page, with the special design offered while supplies last and subject to credit approval.

Prospective applicants should review the cardholder agreement, including applicable interest rates, fees and eligibility requirements, before applying.
