Gundam Wing’s Latest Official Replica Lets Fans Dress Like Duo Maxwell

Bandai Fashion Collection has announced a new apparel item inspired by Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, offering fans a replica of the distinctive cap worn by Duo Maxwell during the anime.
The replica has been recreated with a strong emphasis on accuracy, aiming to closely match the appearance of the headwear seen during Duo’s earliest scenes in the series.

This follows an earlier collection featuring a replica of one of Heero Yuy’s iconic outfits from the series.

Duo Maxwell is one of the central characters of Gundam Wing and originates from the L2 Colony Cluster, where he spent his childhood as a war orphan after losing his family during conflict.
Forced to survive on the streets alongside other displaced children, Duo developed his agility and resourcefulness by stealing food and supplies when necessary.

His life later changed when he was taken in by a church, although that chapter came to an abrupt end following the church’s destruction.
Afterward, Dr. G recognized his abilities and trained him to become both the pilot of the Gundam Deathscythe and a highly skilled operative.

The newly announced cap reproduces numerous details from the anime design, including its overall silhouette and construction.

Special attention has been given to smaller elements such as the adjustable strap system, interior webbing, and decorative embroidery featured on the original design.

The back of the cap includes the name “DUO MAXWELL” embroidered as a tribute to the Gundam pilot.

Another design highlight can be found in the adjustment buckle, which incorporates styling cues inspired by the Gundam Deathscythe.

The replica hat, priced at 4,950 yen (approx. $34 USD/ £25 GBP), is available through Premium Bandai, where pre-orders are currently being accepted.

Pre-orders are scheduled to close on June 21, 2026, at 11:00 PM JST, and the “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz – Replica Duo’s Cap” is expected to ship in August 2026.
