Gundam SEED’s Mighty Strike Freedom Prepares to Soar Into Bandai’s GUNDAM UNIVERSE Figure Line
A new figure inspired by one of the most memorable mobile suits from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM is joining Bandai Spirits’ GUNDAM UNIVERSE lineup.
The latest release recreates the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam, the powerful machine that played a central role during the film’s climactic final confrontation.
The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED franchise takes place in the Cosmic Era setting, a world where genetically enhanced Coordinators coexist alongside naturally born humans known as Naturals.
The original Mobile Suit Gundam SEED anime first aired in 2002 and was later followed by its sequel series, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY.
The storyline continued with the theatrical feature Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, which debuted on January 26, 2024, and became the highest-grossing movie in the Gundam franchise’s history.
As part of the action-oriented GUNDAM UNIVERSE range, the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam figure offers extensive articulation for recreating a wide variety of poses from the movie.
A standout feature of the release is its distinctive backpack unit, faithfully reproduced to match the mobile suit’s appearance on screen.
Its large wing assemblies can be displayed fully spread, capturing the dramatic silhouette that defined many of the machine’s battle scenes.
The included accessories allow collectors to recreate numerous moments from the film, including attacks using the anti-ship sword Futsunomitama and displays featuring the powerful Disruptor weapon in its firing state.
Replacement antenna components are also included to expand display options.
The robust joint construction characteristic of the GUNDAM UNIVERSE series helps the figure maintain stable poses even when equipped with its larger weapons.
The backpack can also be removed and displayed separately as the Proud Defender, providing additional ways to recreate scenes from the movie.
Detailed sculpting and sharp mechanical styling help emphasize the imposing appearance of the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam from multiple viewing angles.
Its wing deployment mechanism dramatically alters the figure’s profile depending on how it is posed, further highlighting the mobile suit’s striking design.
The figure measures approximately 15 cm in height and includes the main figure, three pairs of interchangeable hands, two beam sabers, two beam saber effect parts, the Futsunomitama sword, replacement antenna pieces, and a set of joint parts.
The GUNDAM UNIVERSE ZGMF/A-262PD-P Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam will receive a general retail release on June 27, 2026, and is not exclusive to any particular retailer, carrying a suggested retail price of ¥4,400 (approx. $30 USD/£22 GBP).
Also joining the GUNDAM UNIVERSE lineup on the same date is the newly revealed Sinanju, from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.
