GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT’s Knight-Inspired HG Calice Gunpla Kit Gets Official Release Date as Pre-Orders Open
Bandai has simultaneously confirmed the release date and opened pre-orders for a new knight-inspired Gunpla kit based on the upcoming action game GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT.
The “HG 1/144 Calice” recreates the heavily armored Mobile Suit piloted by Elaine Galath, featuring an enormous lance, deployable armor components, and a detailed mechanical design.
GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is part of Gundam’s new RG Project, a multimedia initiative connecting the upcoming action game with the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO through a shared universe and history.
The game takes place in the year A.A. 145, approximately 100 years after the events of the anime, and follows Gundam Helix pilot RE-X and his Haro companion Vee as they battle a mysterious silicon-based lifeform known as the Apocalypse.
Players will be able to customize their Mobile Suits with different weapons, equipment, and color schemes, allowing them to develop their own combat styles across the game’s high-speed battles.
Calice is the personal Mobile Suit of Elaine Galath, a highly skilled pilot who serves as the 19th Seat Knight Commander of the Trezor Council and leads its Mobile Suit forces.
Designated TRA122E/B, Calice has an imposing appearance inspired by medieval knights, with silver-white armor, a narrow head, and a huge lance that extends well past the machine’s body.
Its head incorporates a mono-eye camera and blade-shaped antenna, with rounded armor panels and detailed mechanical sections giving the design an appearance reminiscent of classic Zeon Mobile Suits.
Despite Calice’s heavily armored appearance, the kit’s articulation allows builders to recreate some of the agile movements the Mobile Suit performs in GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT.
The arms and lower legs incorporate opening armor flaps, allowing builders to deploy mechanical components that are normally concealed within the exterior panels.
Calice’s enormous lance is one of the kit’s main attractions, with its detailed construction recreating the weapon’s unique shape and multiple thrusters positioned toward the rear.
The weapon can also be mounted on the included backpack when not in use, allowing Calice to be displayed without holding it.
Foil stickers and marking stickers are also included for completing the assembled model.
Like the other GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT High Grade releases, Calice supports interchangeable weapons and components, allowing builders to customize it with compatible parts from other kits in the range.
Bandai previously revealed the painted prototypes of Calice and Bau Bahlam at the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show earlier this month, giving fans an initial look at the two machines ahead of the start of pre-orders.
Image by Charlotte DavisBau Bahlam is the heavily armored Mobile Suit piloted by Big Paul, leader of the Mars-based Red Grit group, and features an enormous chainsaw-style weapon that contrasts with Calice’s knight-inspired equipment.
Bandai has also recently opened pre-orders for the “HG 1/144 Bau Bahlam”, as well as the “HG 1/144 Gundam Helix”, a kit based on the game’s protagonist Gundam Helix.
The wider RG Project will also introduce a new High Grade Gundam ZERO kit based on Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO, which will become the first Gunpla to use Bandai’s new six-color Iropla molding technology.
The “HG 1/144 Calice” is scheduled for release in Japan during February 2027, priced at ¥3,080 (approximately $20 / £15), with Japanese hobby retailers such as HobbyLink Japan having begun accepting pre-orders from October 15, 2026.
Bandai is yet to confirm an international release through platforms such as Premium Bandai US, though it is likely that pre-orders will open there shortly.
GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is scheduled for a worldwide release on March 5, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
