Gundam 00 Celestial Being Movie Set for 2314 Release

A new Gundam 00 movie has been announced by Bandai, though anyone reading this may struggle to make the premiere, as it’s set for release in just under 300 years time.
A new theatrical trailer for “Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: Celestial Being” has been released, though to the dismay of fans it was specifically created by the franchise to celebrate April Fools’ Day.
The trailer playfully advertises an incredibly distant premiere date set for the year 2314.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 originally aired its television broadcast across two highly successful seasons.

The series follows a private paramilitary group attempting to eradicate global conflict through tactical armed interventions.
The 2010 theatrical film Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: Awakening of the Trailblazer later concluded the gripping storyline.

During the events of that real anime movie, the main characters are shown watching a heavily dramatized, in-universe propaganda film simply titled “Celestial Being”.

This new April Fools’ Day joke faithfully recreates and expands upon that specific in-universe footage.
The trailer highlights the flashy and intentionally overly passionate exploits of the Gundam Meisters as they fight for peace.

Fans of the mecha franchise quickly recognized the hilarious references to the original theatrical scenes.
The social media post also jokingly announced that fake advance ticket purchases would include a special “Glowing Celesta-light” bonus item.

While fans will not actually be able to purchase tickets for a 2314 premiere, the legendary franchise is currently enjoying massive theatrical success.
The recent release of Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe has drawn huge crowds to cinemas across Japan and US fans are gearing up for its premiere on May 15, 2026.

Given the ongoing popularity of the giant robot franchise, fans can always look forward to more exciting, real-world theatrical announcements in the future.
