Guild Wars 3 Officially Announced for PS5 and PC

ArenaNet has officially announced the development of Guild Wars 3, representing a major new chapter for the long-standing MMORPG franchise.
The upcoming title is confirmed for release on PC via Steam and will also debut on PlayStation 5, marking the first time the series has expanded to home consoles.
This announcement was made on June 5, 2026, with the developer revealing that the first beta test is currently scheduled for the fall of 2027.
Studio head and game director Colin Johanson stated that the project aims to modernize the genre by creating a world that is responsive and innovative while remaining respectful of player time.
Set over a millennium before the original game, the narrative takes place in the Tyrian region of Orr, a magical wilderness frontier where various guilds fight for control over the land’s resources.
Players will encounter Vael spirits, which are nature entities that embody the vitality of the landscape and vary in size and influence.
The most significant of these spirits is the Seeker, a creature that serves as a spiritual connection and a mount for travel across the open world.
In the role of a Vaelwarden, players will join a guild dedicated to protecting these spirits and the land itself from those who wish to exploit it.
The game features deep character customization and a combat system built to function optimally on both controllers and keyboards.
This movement-based combat rewards strategic positioning by allowing players to convert momentum into increased damage during encounters.
The reveal took place during the Summer Game Fest 2026 event, accompanied by an initial announcement trailer.
