FromSoftware’s award winning Sekiro is being adapted into an anime

An official anime adaptation has been announced for the critically acclaimed video game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
The new series, titled Sekiro: No Defeat, was announced by a partnership that includes the Japanese publisher Kadokawa and the global streaming service, Crunchyroll.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which was developed by FromSoftware and won “Game of the Year” at The Game Awards in 2019, is a notoriously challenging action-adventure game set in a dark, fantasy version of Japan’s Sengoku period.

The story follows a loyal shinobi known only as “Wolf,” who serves a young lord known as the Divine Heir.
The new anime will be produced by the animation studio Qzil.la.
It will be directed by Kenichi Kutsuna, with screenplays by Takuya Satou and character designs by Takahiro Kishida.

The voice cast for the main characters has also been revealed, with Daisuke Namikawa voicing the protagonist, Wolf, Miyuki Satou as the Divine Heir, Kuro, and Kenjiro Tsuda as the antagonist, Genichiro Ashina.
In a statement, the adaptation’s director, Kenichi Kutsuna, said that the team is “pouring every ounce of our artistic vision and passion for beauty into its production” to create a “truly memorable experience.”

Crunchyroll’s chief content officer, Asa Suehira, added that the game is “known for its precision and intensity, and those qualities carry through beautifully in this adaptation.”
The anime will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll in most regions of the world.
However, it will not be available on the service in Japan, China, Korea, Russia, or Belarus.
A specific air date for the new series has not yet been announced, however an announcement trailer is now available on YouTube:
