Evangelion Unit-01 is transformed into a dinosaur for new Zoids collab figure
Pre-orders have opened for a new addition to Takara Tomy’s T-SPARK [Synergenex] Collaboration Series, bringing together the worlds of Zoids and Evangelion.
This release marks a celebration of Evangelion’s 30th anniversary, integrating the iconic anime’s aesthetic into the Zoids universe.
The [Synergenex] series is a specialized line under the T-SPARK brand, dedicated to fostering synergy between Takara Tomy’s own flagship intellectual properties, such as Transformers, Zoids, and Diaclone, and external IPs or brands.
The objective is to create products and content that mutually enhance both participating franchises.
In this particular crossover, the Zoids’ Xenorex model has been reimagined and customized by NERV, the fictional organization from the Evangelion series.
Its new role is to defend Tokyo-3, a fortified city in the Evangelion narrative, alongside the Evangelion units themselves.
The Xenorex is equipped with gear specifically modeled after Evangelion Unit-01.
This includes meticulous spot paint applications and detailed markings to accurately reproduce the distinct Evangelion aesthetic.
The collaboration goes beyond mere color schemes; newly added parts to the Xenorex’s head, shoulders, and weapons have been specifically designed to reflect enhanced coordination with Evangelion units within this imagined setting.
The model accurately replicates the signature silhouette of the [Synergenex] line, along with its characteristic MERC color palette.
Once assembled, the Xenorex model features smooth, lifelike walking action, complete with an opening and closing mouth.
It is also equipped with newly designed weaponry, including a Weapon Rack, a Pallet Rifle, and a Progressive Knife, all modeled after those found on Evangelion Unit 01.
The weapon rack is designed to deploy, subsequently loading the weapon knife.
The set includes an Entry Plug and a pilot figure, both designed with colors inspired by Shinji Ikari’s plug suit, adding to the immersive crossover experience.
This collaborative Zoid model is priced at ¥6,600/$56.99 USD and is scheduled for release in April 2026.
