Bandai Fully Reveals Gundam AOZ’s Exclusive New Reben-Wolf Gunpla Kit as Pre-Orders Open
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has officially opened pre-orders for a new Reben-Wolf Gunpla kit inspired by the Space Wolf Team from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ.
The “HG 1/144 Reben-Wolf (Space Wolf Team Specification) (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)” introduces an expanded selection of weapons and interchangeable components that allow builders to recreate three different Mobile Suit configurations.
Bandai previously revealed the first prototype of the Space Wolf Team Reben-Wolf at the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show earlier this month, confirming its new colors but leaving the complete accessory selection and release schedule unannounced.
The Reben-Wolf originates from the manga and mechanical design series Advance of Zeta Re-Boot: Gundam Inle – Black Rabbit of Dreams, which expands the Universal Century timeline through the activities of Zeon remnants operating on Mars.
Designated AMX-014R, the Reben-Wolf was developed by Mars Zeon as a more economical alternative to the heavily armed AMX-014 Döven Wolf, retaining much of the original machine’s combat potential through a more flexible equipment system.
Its construction shares components with the Zaku III-R, while several weapons and propulsion systems that were permanently integrated into the Döven Wolf were redesigned as optional equipment.
The Space Wolf Team itself appeared in Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, operating under the command of veteran Neo Zeon pilot Rakan Dahkaran during the First Neo Zeon War.
Its members piloted Döven Wolves, and the new A.O.Z RE-BOOT variation pays tribute to those machines through a combination of pale green and gray armor that replaces the Reben-Wolf’s usual military coloring.
Bandai originally released the “HG 1/144 Reben-Wolf (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)” in 2025, with the first kit recreating the standard Mars Zeon specification in its olive-drab color scheme.
The new Space Wolf Team edition builds upon that earlier release with additional molded components, more weapons, and a broader selection of display configurations.
One of its biggest upgrades is the inclusion of three interchangeable head designs, allowing builders to choose between the standard Reben-Wolf, its commander specification, and a Döven Wolf-inspired configuration.
The newly developed Döven Wolf head is based on the updated mechanical illustrations from A.O.Z RE-BOOT and can be combined with the included main booster binder to give the model an appearance closer to its heavily armed predecessor.
The alternative head and equipment options also allow collectors to switch between the regular and commander versions of the Reben-Wolf without purchasing separate kits.
The additional equipment includes a new anti-ship rifle supplied with four magazines, which can be mounted directly onto the Mobile Suit’s front skirt armor when not in use.
Its extensive weapon selection also includes a beam launcher, arm-mounted missile equipment, and a grenade launcher, providing several ways to display the Reben-Wolf in different combat configurations.
These additions are joined by the beam machine gun and beam sword-axe from the original release, with the latter retaining its telescoping handle that allows the weapon to switch between sword and axe configurations.
Propellant tanks, the main booster binder, interchangeable hands, connection joints, and effect parts are also included, further expanding the range of possible equipment combinations.
The kit retains several of the articulation mechanisms developed for the original Reben-Wolf, including its adjustable mono-eye camera, forward-sliding chest armor, and extending waist joint.
Linked knee and ankle mechanisms also help builders recreate more dynamic poses, with the adjustable backpack mount accommodating the additional equipment.
The new color scheme is reproduced through the molded plastic, with separate components for details such as the exposed yellow cables and red chest-mounted weapon openings, while marking decals are provided for additional finishing details.
The announcement also follows Bandai’s recent re-release of the original “HG 1/144 Döven Wolf”, which recreates the heavily armed Mobile Suit featured in Gundam ZZ with its remote-controlled Incom weapons and powerful Mega Launcher configuration.
Bandai has also continued expanding its A.O.Z RE-BOOT Gunpla releases through the recent return of the exclusive “HG 1/144 Hi-Zack Custom (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)”, which received another production run for both Japan and the US.
Pre-orders for the “HG 1/144 Reben-Wolf (Space Wolf Team Specification) (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)” officially opened through Premium Bandai Japan on October 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM JST.
The exclusive kit is priced at ¥5,720 (approximately $36 / £27), with Japanese orders scheduled to ship in January 2027.
At the time of writing, a corresponding release has not yet been confirmed through Premium Bandai US, although exclusive Gunpla releases frequently appear on the American store several days or weeks after their initial Japanese pre-order windows open, so it’s worth checking back regularly to avoid missing out.
