Bandai Announces Re-Release for Classic Gundam ZZ Gunpla Kit

Bandai Spirits has announced the re-release of a classic High Grade Gunpla model kit based on Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ.
The reissue of the “HG 1/144 Döven Wolf” will bring the formidable heavy-assault mobile suit back to retail shelves later this year.

High Grade models are a major part of the Gunpla hobby due to their accessible 1/144 scale and impressive range of movement.

Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ serves as the direct sequel to Zeta Gundam, covering the escalating conflict between the AEUG and the Neo Zeon forces.

The “HG 1/144 Döven Wolf” faithfully captures the original aesthetic of the machine, meticulously replicating the distinctive chest markings and sleeve designs featured in the anime series.

The kit incorporates several advanced engineering gimmicks to recreate the mobile suit’s massive onboard arsenal.
Builders can deploy the remote-controlled Incom wire-guided weapons stored in the backpack armor for dynamic mid-range combat displays.

The mobile suit can also connect its signature beam rifle to its torso to form the devastating Mega Launcher configuration.
This reissue joins the concurrent return of two popular kits from the predecessor series, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam.

Fans looking to expand their Universal Century collections can also pre-order the updated “HG 1/144 Rick Dias” and the “HG 1/144 Rick Dias (Quattro Bajeena Custom)”, which feature modernized joint structures and revised armor panels.

While pre-orders for the “HG 1/144 Döven Wolf” are now open on Premium Bandai, the kit is a standard general retail release rather than a web exclusive, so it will be widely available in hobby stores.

The “HG 1/144 Döven Wolf” is priced at 2,640 yen (approx. $17 USD / £13 GBP), and although the release date is yet to be confirmed, fans can expect it to launch in mid to late 2026.
