Uma Musume’s Los Angeles Concerts Officially Canceled After US Fails to Approve Visas
Image by Charlotte DavisCygames has officially canceled its upcoming Uma Musume: Pretty Derby concerts in Los Angeles after failing to secure the US visas required for the performances, just days before the shows were due to take place.
The “Uma Musume: Pretty Derby 7th EVENT WORLD TOUR ‘THE STAGE’ in LOS ANGELES” concerts were scheduled for October 22 and 23, 2026, at the Peacock Theater, with the cancellation affecting both performances.

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is Cygames’ popular multimedia franchise inspired by real-world racehorses, reimagining them as anime-style girls who compete on the racetrack while pursuing their dreams as athletes and performers.
Since launching in Japan, the franchise has expanded through mobile games, anime, manga, music, and major live concerts featuring the voice actresses behind its characters.

The Los Angeles concerts formed part of Uma Musume’s first world tour, which was announced in June 2026 following the conclusion of its Tokyo performances.
The tour was intended to bring Uma Musume’s live musical performances to international audiences, with Los Angeles announced alongside future stops in London and Seoul, as well as an additional Japanese performance in Yokohama.

However, on October 19, Cygames issued an unexpected statement warning that the necessary US visas had still not been approved, despite preparations having started more than six months earlier.
Organizers explained that they had been working with American lawyers and local promoters throughout the process, with efforts continuing to secure the required approvals ahead of the concerts.

At the time, Cygames said it was exploring every possible option to allow the performances to go ahead and promised to make a final decision on October 20.
Unfortunately, those efforts were unsuccessful, with Cygames confirming on October 20 that it had been left with no option but to cancel both shows.

In its official statement, Cygames apologized to fans who had been looking forward to the concerts, acknowledging the inconvenience and concern caused by announcing the cancellation so close to the event.
The announcement also included an apology to the performers, staff, and other people involved in preparing the Los Angeles concerts.
With the performances canceled, Cygames has confirmed that refunds are being arranged for several types of tickets and associated bookings, including:
- Tickets for both Los Angeles concerts
- Online livestream tickets
- Official live-viewing tickets
- Bookings for the “Uma Musume × JTB 7th EVENT ‘THE STAGE’ in LOS ANGELES OFFICIAL TOUR” travel package
Organizers are also considering additional arrangements for fans who had planned to attend the concerts in person, although the exact details have yet to be announced.

Cygames has not specified when refunds will begin or how the process will work, instead confirming that further information will be published through the official Uma Musume 7th EVENT website once the arrangements have been finalized.
The cancellation announcement specifically concerns the Los Angeles performances, with no changes to the previously announced London, Seoul or Yokohama stops confirmed in the statement.
