Ditto Takes Over the Tokyo Subway to Celebrate Launch of Pokémon Pokopia

Tokyo Metro has revealed a unique advertisement campaign featuring the Pokémon Ditto to celebrate the launch of a new Nintendo Switch 2 game.
The “Hanzomon-sen Transformation” collaboration features a series of playful visual takeovers throughout one of Tokyo’s busiest lines.

This promotion coincides with the release of Pokémon Pokopia, a new adventure that sees players take on the role of a Ditto that has transformed into a human protagonist.

The campaign also arrives as part of the wider celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise.
These festivities include the announcements of Pokémon Winds and Waves for 2027 and the release of commemorative metal charms by Takara Tomy Arts.

Travelers in Japan will also soon be able to see three newly themed Pokémon Jets from ANA, which were announced to celebrate this significant milestone.

The collaboration focuses on the Hanzomon Line due to the similarity between the route’s purple color and the natural appearance of Ditto.
Designers utilized a pun between the name of the Hanzomon Line and the Japanese name for Ditto to create a special “Hanzomon-sen” logo.

Commuters can find various Ditto illustrations at Oshiage (Skytree-mae) Station, Hanzomon Station, and Shibuya Station.

Two full train sets on the Hanzomon Line have been completely decorated with the shapeshifting character for this promotion.

The decorated trains are scheduled to operate from March 2 until March 15, 2026.
The advertising displays will be displayed from March 2 until March 8, 2026.
Passengers will need a valid train ticket to enter the ticket gates and view the displays located within the station concourses.
Pokémon Pokopia is officially set for a simultaneous worldwide release on March 5, 2026.
