Demons’ Crest Anime Teaser Trailer Announces 2026 Premiere

The first official details for the Demons’ Crest anime adaptation, based on the latest light novel series by Sword Art Online creator Reki Kawahara, were announced on March 23, 2026.
A teaser trailer and a fresh visual were released to mark the occasion, confirming that the series is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2026.

Production IG will handle the animation for the project, with Kenichiro Komaya serving as the director and Shinji Ushiro acting as the series director.
The lead voice cast features Haruka Shiraishi as Yuuma Ashihara and Konomi Inagaki as his twin sister, Sawa Ashihara.

The technical staff includes Eiji Umehara as the series composer, while Yukiko Horiguchi is responsible for the character designs and Yuki Hayashi and Naoyuki Chikatani are co-composing the music.
The story follows sixth-grader Yuuma and his sister Sawa as they play a new virtual reality MMORPG called Actual Magic, which unexpectedly begins to merge with their physical reality.

This fusion of worlds leads to a dangerous environment where death is a constant threat and former classmates are transformed into terrifying monsters.
The original light novels are published in English by Yen Press, and the anime marks another major adaptation for Kawahara following the success of his previous works like Accel World.
