Delicious in Dungeon 2nd Season Confirmed for October 2027 Release

Kadokawa has confirmed that Delicious in Dungeon will return for a second anime season, with Studio Trigger’s acclaimed fantasy series scheduled to premiere worldwide in October 2027 exclusively on Netflix.

Delicious in Dungeon, also known as Dungeon Meshi, is based on Ryōko Kui’s award-winning manga, which combines classic fantasy dungeon exploration with inventive cooking as a party of adventurers survives by preparing meals from the monsters they encounter.

The announcement was made during Anime Expo, where Studio Trigger also unveiled the first ultra teaser visual for the highly anticipated continuation of the anime.

Fans can also look forward to the return of the Delicious in Dungeon: Dungeon Exploration Radio program, which resumes streaming from Sunday with Kentarō Kumagai, the voice of Laios, and Sayaka Senbongi, who plays Marcille.

The production team from the first season will reunite for the new episodes, with Yoshihiro Miyajima returning as director, Kimiko Ueno overseeing series composition, Naoki Takeda handling character designs, Yasunori Mitsuda composing the music, Kōhei Yoshida serving as sound director, and Studio Trigger once again leading animation production for Delicious in Dungeon PARTNERS.

The anime first premiered on Netflix in January 2024 and ran for a total of 24 episodes, earning praise for faithfully adapting Ryōko Kui’s unique blend of fantasy adventure, comedy and culinary creativity.

The original manga began serialization in Kadokawa’s Harta magazine in February 2014 before concluding in September 2023 after building a devoted global fanbase.

The story follows adventurer Laios and his companions after a disastrous encounter with a dragon leaves them without supplies or money, forcing the group to survive by hunting, cooking and eating the dungeon’s monsters while attempting to rescue their missing teammate.

From slimes and basilisks to mimics and even dragons, nearly every creature they encounter becomes part of an increasingly imaginative menu that gives the series its distinctive identity.

Fans visiting Los Angeles can also experience both the Ryōko Kui Exhibition and the Delicious in Dungeon Exhibition, which are currently running through July 26.

Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 is scheduled to debut globally on Netflix in October 2027, with additional details expected to be announced closer to its premiere.
