Hatsune Miku and Friends Get an Animal Themed Makeover for Exclusive New Magical Mirai Collab
Hatsune Miku and her fellow Virtual Singers have been transformed into adorable Choco-Animals for a new collection of exclusive merchandise and treats coming to Magical Mirai 2026 in Osaka and Tokyo.
Created especially for an Animate cafe cart at the event, the new illustrations give the characters a chocolate-and-animal-inspired makeover that will appear across collectible goods, colorful drinks and menu bonuses.
Magical Mirai has been held annually since 2013 and combines 3DCG concerts starring Hatsune Miku and other Virtual Singers with an exhibition celebrating the creative culture that has developed around the characters.
The 2026 event features Hatsune Miku alongside Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO and KAITO, with this year’s Magical Mirai taking place across Hamamatsu, Osaka and Tokyo under the theme “Sonare of the Lake”.
A collection of merchandise featuring the new Choco-Animal illustrations will be available from the Animate cafe cart, including acrylic stands, coasters, badges and other collectibles.
The food selection will include Grilled Green Onion Potato Snacks and a Hatsune Miku Jelly Stick, with both priced at ¥950 each (approx. $6 USD/ £5 GBP).
Six iced character drinks will also be served, including Miku’s Choco Mint Pudding Drink, KAITO’s Blue Coffee Lemonade Drink and Len’s Mango and Black Tea Jelly Drink.
Fans ordering from the menu will receive an additional Choco-Animal collectible, with one randomly selected illustration coaster from six available designs included for every menu item purchased.
The Animate cafe cart will first appear at the Magical Mirai 2026 Osaka exhibition in Intex Osaka Hall 4 from August 14 to August 16, operating from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with final entry at 5:30 p.m.
The collaboration will then move to the Tokyo event at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Halls 1, 2 and 3 from August 28 to August 30, where the cafe cart will again operate from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with final entry at 5:30 p.m.
