Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro Update Now Live

CD Projekt RED has officially launched the PlayStation 5 Pro update for Cyberpunk 2077 as of April 8, 2026.
This free enhancement aims to leverage the advanced hardware of the PlayStation 5 Pro to deliver 4K visuals, improved performance, and sophisticated ray tracing effects.

A central feature of the update is the integration of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, which utilizes artificial intelligence to upscale images pixel by pixel for sharper detail.
The developer has also implemented 8-way Bounding Volume Hierarchy support to enhance ray-traced lighting, shadows, and reflections throughout the sprawling environment of Night City.

Players can choose from three different graphical modes to customize their experience based on their specific hardware and visual preferences.
The Ray Tracing Pro mode offers the most advanced visual suite, targeting 40 frames per second on displays with variable refresh rate or 30 frames per second on standard screens.

For those prioritizing fluid gameplay, the Performance mode can reach up to 90 frames per second on compatible VRR displays while maintaining high image fidelity.
A third option, simply named Ray Tracing mode, serves as a middle ground by offering select ray tracing enhancements at a stable 60 frames per second.

The release of this patch coincides with the game’s presence in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, allowing Extra and Premium members to access the upgraded version at no additional cost.
While the title originally debuted in 2020, it continues to receive technical support across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC.
