Capcom Releases New Resident Evil Short Film

Capcom has ramped up the promotional campaign for its upcoming survival horror game, Resident Evil Requiem, by releasing a new three-minute short film.
Titled “Evil Has Always Had a Name,” the cinematic piece offers fans a dark glimpse into the world’s most catastrophic biohazard event: the destruction of Racoon City.

The short film stars actor Maika Monroe and focuses on the harrowing experiences of a mother and daughter.
The story spans the timeline before, during, and after the fall of Raccoon City, the setting of many early Resident Evil games.

The Raccoon City incident, which saw the populace transformed by the Umbrella Corporation’s T-virus, is one of the focal points of the franchise’s global zombie nightmare.
Providing this kind of supplemental material helps ground the new game within the established Resident Evil universe, and the film serves as an important piece of anticipation-building content leading up to the game’s launch.

Resident Evil Requiem is officially scheduled for release on February 27.
The title is set to be a major multi-platform release, coming to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, the new Switch 2 console, and PC through the Steam platform.
“Evil Has Always Had a Name” is now available to watch via YouTube.
