World’s First-Ever Undertale Exhibition Announced for 2027

UNDERTALE is getting its first major exhibition, with the newly announced UNDERTALE MUSEUM set to bring an immersive recreation of the game’s world to Tokyo and Osaka in 2027.
The large-scale event is being supervised by UNDERTALE creator Toby Fox and will allow visitors to journey through an experience inspired by the locations, atmosphere and memorable encounters found throughout the game.

Originally released in 2015, UNDERTALE is an independent role-playing game that follows a human child who falls into the Underground, a hidden world populated by monsters that were sealed away from the surface long ago.
Players gradually make their way through this unusual setting while meeting characters including Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne and Alphys, many of whom have since become some of gaming’s most recognizable personalities.

UNDERTALE became particularly well known for allowing players to approach conflicts in different ways, including the option to spare opponents rather than defeat them, with those decisions directly influencing the story and its possible endings.
Its combination of comedy, emotional storytelling, unconventional battles, and an instantly recognizable soundtrack helped the game build a dedicated international following that remains active more than a decade after its original release.

The UNDERTALE MUSEUM will draw on that history by presenting the exhibition as a journey through the game itself, with each step intended to capture the feeling of determination that plays such an important role in its story.
Although the complete contents have not yet been revealed, the announcement describes the event as an immersive experience rather than a traditional collection of artwork and development materials.

This suggests that visitors can expect environments and displays designed to recreate the feeling of exploring the Underground.
The exhibition is being organized by the UNDERTALE MUSEUM Executive Committee with support from localization company 8-4 and merchandise company Fangamer, both of which have longstanding connections to the game.

A teaser website and official X account have opened alongside the announcement, with ticket details, exhibition features, and additional visitor information due to be shared at a later date.
The Tokyo edition of UNDERTALE MUSEUM will run from February 19 through March 10, 2027, at Exhibition Hall A inside Sunshine City in Ikebukuro.
The exhibition will then move to the ATC Gallery in Osaka, where it will be held from April 22 through May 9, 2027.
Ticket prices and sales dates have not yet been announced.
