Berserk’s Rarest Guts Statue Officially Returns in 2027 for Limited Edition Re-Release
Image by James RichardsonART OF WAR is revisiting one of Berserk’s most brutal battles with a heavily updated re-release of a statue that captures Guts in the Berserker Armor launching himself onto the bow of the monstrous ghost ship in the Fantasia Arc.
Standing 52 cm tall, the new “Tentacle Ship 2026” transforms the chaotic confrontation into an elaborate polystone display filled with blood, decaying wood, sea life and the enormous skull figurehead looming beneath Guts.
ART OF WAR has been producing premium Berserk statues for decades, with its original Tentacle Ship sculpture first appearing in 2014 as separate Standard and Exclusive editions that quickly sold out.
The original Exclusive Version included interchangeable Guts heads alongside a small Berserker Wolf figure, while subsequent years brought several extremely limited repaints and alternative finishes.
Among those were Black and Blue Steel repaints released during 2016 and special Aluminum Coating editions produced for ART OF WAR’s 20th anniversary in 2017, with the earlier sold-out statues becoming increasingly difficult to find.
ART OF WAR revisited the concept again with “Tentacle Ship 2019,” dramatically increasing the sculpture to 75.5 cm and nearly 9.5 kg for a made-to-order release initially limited to only 10 examples.
The newly announced “Tentacle Ship 2026” retains the scale of the earlier releases while updating its sculpting and paintwork using techniques ART OF WAR has refined in the years since those original releases.
The finished statue measures approximately 52 cm tall, 31 cm wide and 30 cm deep including its base, giving the elaborate ship bow and Berserker Armor display a substantial footprint.
The scene depicts Guts surrendering himself to the Berserker Armor as he cuts through the creatures infesting the transformed ship before leaping onto its bow at extraordinary speed.
Blood covers his armor and Dragon Slayer, while the large cape sweeping behind him is sculpted to evoke the violent wind, raging sea and constant movement surrounding the battle.
Even the cape is produced entirely from polystone, with ART OF WAR using the rigid material to recreate the appearance of fabric being thrown through the air.
Much of the statue’s impact comes from the enormous skull figurehead supporting the scene, which has been finished to resemble part of a medieval wooden ship left to decay after years of exposure to seawater and moisture.
Barnacles and seaweed cling to the skull and surrounding wood, creating a sharp contrast against the metallic surfaces of the Berserker Armor and allowing the different materials represented throughout the sculpture to stand apart visually.
An optional crystal can also be fitted into the skull’s left eye, reflecting surrounding light to give the decaying figurehead an additional unsettling focal point.
The 2026 edition also allows Guts’ appearance to be changed through interchangeable Berserker and human heads, creating two noticeably different interpretations of the same moment.
The Berserker head presents Guts almost completely consumed by the armor’s violent impulses, while the alternative portrait exposes his human face and piercing gaze as he continues pushing his body beyond its limits.
An interchangeable chin guard is also included alongside a Berserker Wolf mini-figure and individual serial-number plate.
Production will be restricted to 77 pieces worldwide, matching the particularly small edition size associated with some of ART OF WAR’s earlier premium Tentacle Ship releases.
Worldwide pre-orders for “Tentacle Ship 2026” will open exclusively through the official ART OF WAR online store at 1:00 PM JST on October 2, 2026, with orders closing as soon as all 77 individually numbered statues have been claimed.
The statue is priced at ¥320,000 (approx. $2,054 USD / £1,520 GBP), with each example produced to order and shipping currently expected to begin from April 2027.
