Bandai Unleashes New ZZ Gundam and SEED Destiny Model Kits

Bandai Spirits has officially released an exciting new wave of model kits featuring mobile suits from the ZZ Gundam, SEED Destiny, and Build Divers series.
The latest Gunpla releases bring the Full Armor ZZ Gundam and the Destiny Gundam to life in highly detailed assembly formats, alongside a versatile option parts set.

Mobile Suit Gundam is a monumental mecha anime franchise that began in 1979, completely revolutionizing the genre with its realistic representation of war and complex political narratives.

Unlike previous shows that focused on super robots, this series introduced the concept of real robots deployed as tactical military weapons.
Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ is a direct sequel to Zeta Gundam, following a group of young junk collectors who are swept into the ongoing conflict against the Neo Zeon forces.

The protagonist Judau Ashta pilots the powerful ZZ Gundam to protect his friends and sister in a war-torn universe.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny takes place in the Cosmic Era, focusing on the renewed tragic conflicts between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT.

The Destiny Gundam is a highly advanced mobile suit piloted by Shinn Asuka, featuring iconic Wings of Light and a devastating arsenal of weaponry.

The Gundam Build Divers series offers a fun twist on the franchise, focusing on passionate fans who battle using their customized plastic model kits in virtual arenas.

Let’s take a look at the three newly released model kits!
- MG 1/100 Full Armor ZZ Gundam Ver.Ka

Produced under the complete supervision of mechanical designer Hajime Katoki, this Master Grade kit brings the ultimate version of the heavy mobile suit to life.

By rearranging the extra armor, builders can attach the massive Hyper Mega Cannon or remove the armor entirely to recreate the Enhanced ZZ Gundam form.

The extra armor has been carefully adjusted to fit the main body, achieving a proportion that avoids looking sluggish.

The Double Beam Rifle can be attached to the forearm and securely held with the hand parts.

The forearm incorporates a roll mechanism that moves in conjunction with the armor, so it does not interfere when raised horizontally.

This release is priced at 12,540 yen (approx. $83 USD / £66 GBP).

- MGSD Destiny Gundam

This release is the fifth entry in the high-end MGSD brand, offering an overwhelming volume of features packed into a stylized SD proportion.

As an original MGSD gimmick, the Arondight Beam Sword and High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon can extend their blades and deploy their barrels.

The wings utilize multiple movable axes to unfold significantly, and clear effect parts can be attached to express the famous Wings of Light.

Along with weapons like the High-Energy Beam Rifle and shield, the kit includes effect parts for the beam shield and the Palma Fiocina palm cannons.

The unique frame structure reproduces an internal skeleton in SD size, ensuring smooth articulation.

This model kit is priced at 4,950 yen (approx. $33 USD / £26 GBP).

- Option Parts Set Gunpla 20 (Ride-On Set)

This fun accessory set includes the Mega Ride Launcher and the Machine Rider from the Gundam Build Divers series, which builders can use to customize their displays.

The Mega Ride Launcher can transform from a Mega Rider form into a Mega Launcher form.

Joint parts are included to seamlessly attach the accessories to various High Grade series kits.

The Machine Rider transforms into a ride position and a stand position, allowing various model kits to board it depending on the builder’s ideas.
This set is available for 1,980 yen (approx. $13 USD / £10 GBP).

These model kits are available to purchase at hobby goods retailers nationwide in Japan and online hobby goods retailers, such as HobbyLink Japan.
