ANA Reveals Pokémon Jet Blue as Pokémon 30th Anniversary Fleet Prepares to Take Flight

Japanese airline ANA has finally unveiled the design of Pokémon Jet Blue, the final of its trio of special aircraft created to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary.
Pokémon began with the release of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green for the Game Boy in 1996 and has since grown into one of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises, spanning video games, anime, trading cards, movies, mobile apps and merchandise enjoyed by fans across multiple generations.

The newly revealed Pokémon Jet Blue joins the previously announced Pokémon Jet Red and Pokémon Jet Green, with all three aircraft forming part of ANA’s special anniversary project celebrating three decades of the franchise.

The specially decorated aircraft will operate on domestic routes and features a colorful exterior themed around Water-Type Pokémon as part of the commemorative design.

One side of the aircraft showcases Totodile, Oshawott, Sobble and Popplio alongside Pikachu, while the opposite side features Squirtle, Quaxly, Piplup, Mudkip and the Pokémon Winds and Waves starter Gecqua, once again alongside Pokémon franchise mascot Pikachu.

Passengers flying aboard the aircraft will also find exclusive Pokémon-themed cabin items designed especially for the anniversary celebrations.

Domestic Economy Class seats will feature headrest covers decorated with the Pokémon appearing on the aircraft, while limited-edition cups displaying the official Pokémon 30th anniversary logo alongside various Pokémon will be available in Domestic Economy Class as well as International Economy Class and Premium Economy.

Exclusive cocktail napkins featuring Pokémon-themed artwork will also be offered to passengers travelling in International Economy Class, Premium Economy and Business Class.

Alongside the aircraft announcement, ANA has also confirmed a new collaboration with Pokémon GO that will introduce exclusive in-game content at participating airports across Japan.

Beginning with the first phase of the collaboration, specially designed ANA PokéStops and Gyms will appear at New Chitose Airport, Hakodate Airport, Akita Airport, Sendai Airport, Haneda Airport Terminals 2 and 3, and Narita Airport Terminal 1.

Players visiting participating airports will be able to discover newly installed PokéStops, participate in Raid Battles at designated Gyms, encounter Pokémon featuring collaboration-exclusive location backgrounds, and complete a limited-time Timed Research event.

ANA has also confirmed that additional airports will gradually join the collaboration as more Pokémon Jet aircraft begin operating, with further details and future updates to be shared through the airline’s dedicated campaign website.

Pokémon Jet Red is scheduled to enter domestic service on July 29, 2026, while Pokémon Jet Green is expected to begin international operations in Autumn 2026 on a date yet to be confirmed.

Pokémon Jet Blue is scheduled to begin operating on ANA domestic routes from December 2026 onwards, while the first phase of the Pokémon GO airport collaboration launches on July 28, 2026, at 4:00 PM JST.
