Akane-banashi Creditless Opening Video Revealed Ahead of Global Release

The upcoming anime adaptation of the popular manga Akane-banashi is set to premiere this weekend on April 4, 2026, across Asia.
Fans worldwide can look forward to a global release of the series scheduled for May 2026.

To build anticipation for the debut, a creditless version of the opening sequence featuring the song Hitotarashi by Keisuke Kuwata has been released on YouTube.
The production is led by director Ayumu Watanabe at studio ZEXCS, known for his work on Summer Time Rendering.
The series composition is handled by Michihiro Tsuchiya, while Kii Tanaka provides the character designs.

Akio Izutsu is responsible for the musical score, and the production benefits from the expertise of rakugo supervisor Kikuhiko Hayashiya.
The voice cast features Anna Nagase as the protagonist Akane Osaki and Takuya Eguchi as Karashi Nerimaya.

Other notable cast members include Rie Takahashi as Hikaru Koragi and Jun Fukuyama as Shinta Arakawa.
The story follows Akane as she begins her formal training to become a professional rakugo performer under the guidance of Shiguma Arakawa.

The original manga by Yuki Suenaga and Takamasa Moue has been serialized since February 2022 and currently has 21 volumes in Japan.
VIZ Media handles the English-language publication of the manga, which depicts Akane’s journey through high school and the competitive world of traditional Japanese storytelling.
