Age Of Mythology: Retold Obsidian Mirror DLC Arrives April 21

Xbox Game Studios and a collective of developers including World’s Edge and Forgotten Empires have officially announced that the Obsidian Mirror expansion for Age of Mythology: Retold will launch on April 21, 2026.
This highly anticipated downloadable content introduces the Aztec pantheon to the real-time strategy title, fulfilling a long-standing request from the player community.
Players will be able to command three new Major Gods, starting with the Feathered Serpent Quetzalcoatl, who focuses on cultural advancement and wind-based powers.
The Smoking Mirror, Tezcatlipoca, offers a gameplay style centered on night, chaos, and the manipulation of reality through underworld minions.
Huitzilopochtli, the god of sun and war, rounds out the Major Gods by rewarding players who utilize sacrifice and devotion to gain devastating martial power.
The expansion also includes nine Minor Gods such as the obsidian butterfly Itzpapalotl and the rain master Tlaloc, each providing unique god powers and myth units.
Innovative gameplay mechanics featuring Fear and Illusion have been integrated, allowing users to harvest life force known as Tonalli from fallen warriors to fuel divine Favor.
A fresh 12-mission campaign is included, chronicling an epic struggle for survival as the Aztec people migrate south following the destruction of the city of Aztlan.
In addition to the new units and missions, the DLC adds strategic depth by allowing players to construct towers from defeated enemies and manipulate enemy behavior on the battlefield.
Age of Mythology: Retold is currently available for purchase on PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, as well as on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Xbox One consoles.
