VR Cooking Game Umami Grove to Launch on PlayStation

Virtual reality cooking game Umami Grove is set to make its PlayStation VR2 debut on January 27, according to a joint announcement from publisher DANGEN Entertainment and developer Pomshine Games.
The physics-based VR adventure has already established a presence in the virtual reality market, having initially launched for SteamVR and Quest on April 24, 2025.

Billed as a “deliciously interactive virtual reality journey,” Umami Grove is a vibrant experience where cooking, exploration, and fun collide within a single, cohesive package.
The core gameplay requires players to immerse themselves fully, utilizing their own hands and the environment to overcome challenges and prepare various mouthwatering dishes.

The game is designed to be highly physical and engaging, compelling players to leap, climb, duck, and swing through various colorful worlds that range from treetops to tabletops.
The primary loop involves assisting a charming cast of creatures, which may entail cooking for them, helping them get back to bed, or simply avoiding accidentally breaking their possessions.

Players gather luscious ingredients through direct interaction, such as picking apples from towering trees or using virtual knives to slice mushrooms on a cutting table.
The developers encourage experimentation, suggesting that players “won’t know until you try” if an unorthodox action, like throwing a fish, might yield an unexpected result.

Beyond the culinary demands, players are driven by a broader objective to “uncover and ponder the mystery behind the ultimate prize: Golden Acorns.”
This element adds a layer of narrative and exploration, pushing players to face peril and hone their cooking skills at every turn in this unique VR environment.

The PlayStation VR2 version promises to deliver the full, hands-on experience where players get their hands “literally” dirty in the name of cooking adventure.
