Valheim Arrives on September 9

The Viking survival hit Valheim is scheduled to officially exit Early Access and launch its 1.0 version on September 9, 2026.
Developer Iron Gate Studio announced the milestone date during the PC Gaming Show on June 8, 2026, marking the end of a development journey that began with an initial Early Access release on February 2, 2021.
The upcoming full release will introduce the final major biome titled The Deep North, which provides players with a frozen landscape featuring new enemies, weapons, and building materials.
Coinciding with the 1.0 launch, the game will expand its reach to new platforms including the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
Players on these new consoles will be able to join the existing community on PC, Linux, Mac, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S through full cross-platform play support.
Since its debut in 2021, the title has seen significant content expansions such as the Mistlands update in December 2022 and the Ashlands update in May 2024.
Iron Gate creative director Robin Eyre expressed that the team has worked hard to ensure The Deep North serves as a worthy conclusion to the game’s initial development roadmap.
Prospective players should note that the developer intends to implement a slight price increase for the software to coincide with the official transition out of Early Access.
