Universal Studios Japan Set to Lower Prices from September 2026

Universal Studios Japan has announced changes to its Studio Pass pricing structure, introducing a lower minimum admission price for guests visiting the park from September 1, 2026, onward, whilst simultaneously introducing changes to its dynamic pricing system.
Japan’s top theme park has always implemented tiered pricing, which sees ticket prices increased for weekends and popular days such as public holidays, however, the park will now implement true dynamic pricing that will see pricing rise in real time as availability decreases.

Located in Osaka, Universal Studios Japan is one of the country’s most popular theme parks, drawing millions of visitors each year with a mix of Hollywood-inspired attractions and immersive themed lands.
The park is home to major areas such as Super Nintendo World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Minion Park, offering a wide range of rides, shows, and interactive experiences designed for both domestic and international guests.

Seasonal events, limited-time collaborations, and exclusive merchandise have also helped establish the park as a major destination for fans of gaming, film, and pop culture.
The park is set to implement a revised ticket pricing system that will allow admission prices to be reviewed and adjusted after tickets go on sale based on guest demand.

Under the new approach, Studio Passes for visits from September 1 will start at ¥8,400 (approx. $57 USD / £43 GBP), reducing the previous minimum entry price by ¥500.
The updated pricing model will apply to tickets released from July 1 for visits taking place on or after September 1.

While each day will initially be assigned a starting price, Universal Studios Japan says ticket prices may increase within a predetermined pricing range after sales begin if demand rises.
As a result, guests planning a visit are expected to benefit from purchasing their tickets as early as possible before any demand-driven price adjustments take effect.

The park says the revised pricing structure is designed to improve the overall guest experience while helping to enhance operational efficiency through more flexible demand management.
The new Studio Pass pricing system will take effect for visits from September 1, 2026, with tickets going on sale from July 1 and entry prices starting from ¥8,400 (approx. $57 USD / £43 GBP) depending on the selected visit date.
