Ultraman Celebrates 60 Years with New Official Store in Tokyo

Tsuburaya Productions has announced the opening of ULTRA MART TOKYO, a brand-new official concept store celebrating Ultraman’s 60th anniversary that aims to become one of Harajuku’s newest attractions.
Opening its doors in one of Tokyo’s most influential pop culture districts, the permanent location has been designed as more than a traditional retail store, offering an immersive destination where visitors can shop, take photos, meet friends and experience exclusive themed attractions.

One of the store’s biggest highlights will be an enormous silver-painted Ultraman Tiga statue standing approximately 3 meters tall, welcoming guests as the centerpiece of the experience.
The towering monument commemorates the 30th anniversary of Ultraman Tiga and sits within a mirrored environment that creates the illusion of endless reflections, making it one of the venue’s most striking photo opportunities.

Rather than remaining static, ULTRA MART TOKYO will regularly introduce new themes, exhibitions and collaborative projects to encourage repeat visits throughout the year.
The concept store has been created as a cultural hub where Ultraman meets modern fashion, technology, art and creative design through collaborations with artists, fashion brands, creators and technology innovators.
Its debut theme, titled “ULTRA CUTE,” partners the Ultraman franchise with popular illustrator Juno’s beloved mofusand series to create an adorable collection of exclusive merchandise.

The first collaboration includes a store-exclusive plush keychain featuring one of mofusand’s signature cats dressed in an Ultraman Tiga costume, combining Ultraman’s heroic legacy with the playful charm of the popular feline characters.

The collaboration will also feature a specially themed display area designed to showcase the collection in a warm and welcoming environment.
Throughout the store, mirrored walls, dynamic lighting, music and video installations work together to create an immersive space where visitors themselves become part of the visual experience.

The futuristic atmosphere blends Ultraman’s cosmic imagery with Harajuku’s constantly evolving fashion and pop culture, extending from the interior architecture to the merchandise displays.
Even the staff uniforms have been specially designed to reinforce the concept, with renowned BASICKS designer Masanori Morikawa creating outfits inspired by the defense force uniforms seen throughout the Ultraman series while incorporating contemporary Harajuku fashion influences.

Facing Harajuku’s busy streets, a large-scale Ultra Window display will regularly showcase changing installations and themed visuals, transforming the storefront into a new social media-friendly photography destination.

To celebrate the grand opening, daily meet-and-greet events featuring Ultraman heroes and Kaiju will take place throughout the launch period, with participating characters and attendance information to be announced through the franchise’s official social media channels.

ULTRA MART TOKYO will officially open in Harajuku on July 10, 2026, with opening celebrations and meet-and-greet events running until August 2, 2026 as part of Ultraman’s ongoing 60th anniversary festivities.
