Pokémon Turns Ditto, Pikachu and Magikarp Into Tasty Treats for Exclusive New Sorbet Collection
Image by Charlotte DavisPokémon has officially revealed a new collection of character-shaped sorbets that sees Ditto, Pikachu and Magikarp recreated as colorful frozen desserts for South Korean convenience store chain CU.
The range gives each Pokémon a flavor chosen to complement its familiar coloring, pairing grape with Ditto, mango with Pikachu, and orange with Magikarp.

Each sorbet is molded into the shape of the Pokémon itself, allowing the character design to remain part of the dessert after it is removed from its packaging.

The collection begins with the grape-flavored “Frozen Ditto Sorbet,” with the “Frozen Pikachu Sorbet” and “Frozen Magikarp Sorbet” joining the lineup later this month.

Ditto’s naturally purple coloring provides the basis for its grape flavor, with the sorbet also having a firm, crunchy frozen texture.

Pikachu’s version uses mango to create its familiar yellow appearance, while Magikarp is recreated through an orange-flavored sorbet matching the Water-type Pokémon’s bright coloring.

The collection expands a character-shaped ice cream range that CU has been steadily developing throughout 2026.

The Korean retailer began the current push in July with a Pat & Mat ice cream that sold approximately 100,000 units during its first month, before extending the format to characters including Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Pompompurin, Hangyodon, Minions and Crayon Shin-chan.

Pokémon has already proven particularly successful for CU outside of frozen desserts, with a Pokémon card set released for Children’s Day in May selling 250,000 units in just three days.
Four additional Pokémon card products offered as Chuseok gift sets also sold out only two days after pre-orders began.

CU is expanding that relationship further through Pokémon Pokopia, with additional collaboration products planned alongside a temporary pop-up at the chain’s Hongdae Sangsang branch running through October 18.

Ditto has been appearing frequently across Pokémon’s food collaborations in 2026, including a recent South Korean partnership with SPAM that placed it alongside Snorlax and Charmander on collectible Chuseok gift sets.

Pokémon has also appeared in several other ice cream collaborations during its 30th anniversary year, including an extensive Baskin-Robbins Japan summer collection featuring character-inspired flavors, drinks, and desserts.

The “Frozen Ditto Sorbet” launched at CU stores on September 30 and is currently priced at ₩4,900 (approximately $3.66/£2.77).

The “Frozen Pikachu Sorbet” and “Frozen Magikarp Sorbet” will join the range on October 14, with all three products being sold through CU in South Korea.
