BLEACH’s official character fragrance collection is returning in 2027 with six new scents inspired by some of Soul Society’s most powerful and unpredictable figures.
The third wave of Primaniacs’ “BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Fragrance” collection introduces individual perfumes based on Kisuke Urahara, Yoruichi Shihōin, Shunsui Kyōraku, Kenpachi Zaraki, Mayuri Kurotsuchi and Jūshirō Ukitake.

Primaniacs has previously applied the same character-focused approach to franchises including Demon Slayer, with scents based on Doma, Kaigaku, Hakuji and Koyuki from the Infinity Castle Arc, and Persona 3 Reload, where 11 characters received individual fragrances reflecting their personalities and beliefs.

They launched their BLEACH collection in late 2024 with fragrances for Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryū Ishida, Renji Abarai and Byakuya Kuchiki, before a second wave in early 2025 added Tōshirō Hitsugaya, Rangiku Matsumoto, Shinji Hirako, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez and Sōsuke Aizen.

The returning third wave expands the lineup from 10 to 16 character fragrances, adding Urahara and Yoruichi alongside four of Soul Society’s captains who were absent from the earlier releases.
Let’s take a look at the six new fragrances!
- Kisuke Urahara

Urahara receives an ozone and moss-based fragrance that opens with ozone and rosemary before moving into anise and tea, finishing with oakmoss and musk to reflect his relaxed exterior and the more formidable presence hidden underneath.

- Yoruichi Shihōin

Yoruichi’s cool floral-oriental scent begins with petitgrain, lavender and rose, before adding lily of the valley, olibanum and jasmine, and finishing with vanilla, heliotrope, patchouli, vetiver and ambrette seed.

Primaniacs describes the changing fragrance as deliberately cat-like in its unpredictability, shifting between sweetness, calm and a brighter energetic character.
- Shunsui Kyōraku

Shunsui receives a floral woody fragrance combining bergamot, grapefruit and green notes with lavender, camellia and peony, followed by a darker base of vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood, labdanum and vanilla.

The scent is designed around the contrast between his laid-back, stylish demeanor and the much heavier presence beneath it.
- Kenpachi Zaraki

Kenpachi’s dry woody fragrance is one of the heaviest in the collection, opening with black pepper and clove before moving through dry woods and guaiacwood into leather and agarwood.

Its rougher spice and wood profile is intended to evoke the worn edge of a battle-used blade and Kenpachi’s overwhelming physical strength.
- Mayuri Kurotsuchi

Mayuri receives the collection’s most experimental scent, with peppermint and spearmint leading into heliotrope and a formalin-inspired chemical note before finishing with musk and labdanum.

Primaniacs describes the resulting herbal-oriental fragrance as deliberately strange and unsettling, reflecting Mayuri’s scientific obsession and unconventional methods.
- Jūshirō Ukitake

Ukitake’s herbal woody fragrance opens with pine needle, eucalyptus and carrot seed, followed by iris, violet and sandalwood before settling into vetiver, amyris, musk and amber.

The softer profile is intended to reflect his calm temperament and compassion, with the warmer floral and woody notes balancing the cooler herbal opening.
Each 30 ml bottle also includes a character card featuring artwork on the front and an explanation of the fragrance on the reverse.

The returning collection arrives during BLEACH’s ongoing 25th anniversary celebrations, which have also included a 17-piece Graniph fashion collection inspired by the Shikai releases of the Soul Reapers’ Zanpakuto featuring characters including Kenpachi and Mayuri.

The franchise’s anniversary projects have also placed renewed focus on its wider cast and history through “BLEACH THE STORIES OF ICHIGO”, an exhibition and merchandise event tracing Ichigo’s evolution throughout the anime.

Online pre-orders for the six new “BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Fragrance” releases are already open through Primaniacs online store, with orders scheduled to begin shipping from January 28, 2027, while physical sales will begin across Primaniacs stores in Japan on January 22.

Each 30 ml fragrance is priced at ¥7,920 (approximately $50 / £38), with Primaniacs sadly confirming that its online store does not offer international shipping for fragrances.

Primaniacs’ Ginza flagship store will also hold its “Conteur de Parfums” fragrance consultation event from January 22 through January 25, where staff will guide visitors through the changing notes and character story represented by each scent, with advance reservations for the event available through the Primaniacs website.
