Tomodachi Life Welcome Version Demo Out Now

Nintendo has officially released the “Welcome Version” demo for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch console as of March 25, 2026.

This demo version allows players to experience the social simulation gameplay ahead of the full title’s global launch scheduled for April 16, 2026.

Users who participate in the demo can create up to three Mii characters and explore early island activities such as visiting the food market and clothing store.

A key feature of the “Welcome Version” is the ability to transfer all progress and save data directly to the retail version of the game upon its release.

Players who successfully complete the demo content will be rewarded with an exclusive hamster costume for their Mii characters to wear in the full game.

The upcoming sequel, which follows the successful 3DS entry from 2013, introduces expanded customization options, including unique facial parts and the ability to decorate rooms with various furniture sets.

New gameplay mechanics allow for deeper social interactions where Miis can forge friendships, engage in conflicts, and develop romantic relationships.

In addition to managing residents, players can utilize the Studio Workshop to craft original items like house exteriors, ground tiles, and clothing.

While the game is designed for the current Nintendo Switch hardware, Nintendo has confirmed that the software will be backward compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2.

The full version of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is priced at $59.99 and is currently available for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop.
