TIGER & BUNNY Stage Play Announced for 15th Anniversary

The creators behind the anime series TIGER & BUNNY have announced a brand-new stage play adaptation to celebrate a major franchise milestone.
The upcoming production, officially titled “TIGER & BUNNY THE STAGE”, will bring the superhero story to life for live audiences.

This exciting announcement coincides perfectly with the 15th anniversary of the anime’s original television broadcast, which began in April 2011.
The anime series was popular with fans as it introduced a highly unique take on the superhero genre.

The story takes place in the fictional metropolis of Stern Bild, a sprawling urban landscape filled with superpowered individuals known as NEXT.
These gifted citizens use their special abilities to fight crime and rescue civilians as professional heroes.

In a fascinating twist, these heroes are sponsored by real-world companies and proudly display corporate logos on their protective armor.
Their heroic deeds are broadcast on a popular entertainment program called Hero TV, where they compete to earn points and climb the seasonal rankings.

The story masterfully balances thrilling action sequences with the comical and dramatic personal struggles of the main cast.
Fans quickly fell in love with the dynamic partnership between the veteran hero Kotetsu T. Kaburagi and the serious rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr.
The enduring popularity of the franchise has led to numerous expansions over the past fifteen years.

The series received two successful theatrical films, starting with The Beginning in 2012 and followed by The Rising in 2014.
A direct sequel series, TIGER & BUNNY 2, was later released globally on streaming platforms in 2022.
This new live-action venture promises to capture the same energetic spirit that made the anime a massive success.

Fans looking to experience the live performance will have multiple opportunities to attend later this year.
The production is scheduled to begin its run in Tokyo in September 2026.
Following the initial performances, the cast and crew will travel to Hyogo for a second block of shows in October 2026.
An official website has also been launched to provide fans with the latest information regarding the theatrical project.
