Headup Acquired By Reforged Studios
Reforged Studios has officially announced the acquisition of German independent games publisher Headup as of March 24, 2026.
The acquisition includes Headup’s entire publishing portfolio of released and upcoming titles, notably featuring Bridge Constructor, Pumpkin Jack, and Super Meat Boy 3D.
Reforged Studios confirmed that Headup’s team remains unchanged, with no job losses or redundancies resulting from the transaction.
Headup will continue its operations by publishing and supporting independent games while leveraging the wider network and expertise of Reforged Studios.
Headup CEO Dieter Schoeller is set to join Reforged Studios as the chief publishing officer at the group level following the deal.
Reforged Studios CEO Peter van der Watt stated that the acquisition materially strengthens their publishing platform and accelerates a long-term growth strategy.
The leadership emphasized that the move is intended to build a durable publishing home for ambitious independent creators rather than simple consolidation.
Founder Dieter Schoeller added that the alignment with Reforged Studios allows the company to grow while maintaining the qualities that make Headup unique.
While the strategic partnership has been finalized, the specific financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed to the public.
