The World’s Strongest Rearguard Anime Adds New Cast Members

The upcoming television anime adaptation of the isekai fantasy light novel series The World’s Strongest Rearguard: Labyrinth Country’s Novice Seeker has announced three additional cast members ahead of its scheduled premiere in July 2026.
Voice actress Kaede Hondo joins the production as the character Misaki, while Kanon Takao will provide the voice for Madoka.

The third addition to the vocal lineup is Yuuka Aisaka, who has been cast in the role of Marissa.

This update follows the release of the first official trailer for the series on March 6, 2026.
The animation is being produced at studio MAHO FILM under the direction of Yuji Yanase.
The project features series composition by Deko Akao and character designs by Eriko Yanagimoto, with a musical score composed by Hinako Tsubakiyama and Fuwari.

The original light novel series, written by Towa and illustrated by Huuka Kazabana, currently has nine volumes published in Japan by Fujimi Shobo under the Kadokawa Books imprint.
An English version of the series is handled by Yen Press, which follows the journey of Arihito Atobe after he is reincarnated into a fantasy world following a fatal bus accident.

Arihito takes on the rare rearguard job class, which allows him to provide critical support to his party while inadvertently increasing his companions’ affection for him.
Fans can expect more updates as the July 2026 broadcast window for the series approaches.
