Steel Ball Run’s Ultimate Johnny and Slow Dancer Statue Unveiled by MEDICOS
Medicos Entertainment has officially opened pre-orders for a new premium statue of Johnny Joestar and his loyal horse Slow Dancer from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run.
Steel Ball Run is the seventh story arc in Hirohiko Araki’s long-running JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series, following former jockey Johnny Joestar as he joins the cross-country Steel Ball Run race alongside Gyro Zeppeli in pursuit of the mystery behind the Spin and a chance to change his fate.
Following the previously announced Gyro Zeppeli & Valkyrie statue, the latest addition to the “Super Action Statue Art Collection” recreates Johnny and Slow Dancer together in an impressive display piece that captures one of the series’ most iconic partnerships.
Standing approximately 30 cm tall and 30.5 cm wide, the large-scale statue depicts Johnny riding Slow Dancer while setting his sights firmly on an approaching opponent.
Johnny’s wind-swept shirt adds a strong sense of movement to the statue, while the stars and horseshoe decorating his signature cap have been carefully recreated.
Slow Dancer’s sculpt emphasizes the powerful musculature of the horse through detailed black shading across its white body.
The included display base features rugged rock formations and swirling clouds of dust, which are used to create the impression of Slow Dancer rearing up as Johnny prepares to unleash the supernatural power of the “Spin”.
When displayed next to the matching Gyro Zeppeli & Valkyrie statue, fans can create the ultimate display of the two protagonists from Steel Ball Run.
Pre-orders placed through the MEDICOS ONLINE SHOP will come with an exclusive bonus set containing an interchangeable head part and replacement hand parts, allowing for additional display options.
The “Super Action Statue Art Collection – Johnny Joestar & Slow Dancer,” priced at ¥28,600 (approx. $194 USD / £142 GBP), can now be pre-ordered through the MEDICOS ONLINE SHOP and hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan.
