Star Detective Precure! Movie Premiere Set for September 18

Toei Animation has officially announced that a feature film based on the ongoing 23rd television series in the Precure franchise, Star Detective Precure, will premiere in Japanese theaters on September 18, 2026.
The studio launched the movie’s official website and X account on April 5, 2026, to share a teaser trailer and promotional visual for the upcoming project.
The promotional materials confirm the appearances of Cure Answer, Cure Mystique, and Cure Arcana Shadow, while also introducing a mysterious new character named Cure Eclair.

Koji Kawasaki, known for his work on Tropical-Rouge Precure, leads the TV series as director alongside composition writer Isao Murayama and character designer Akane Yano.
The musical score for the series is composed by Erika Fukasawa and Misaki Umase, though specific staff for the theatrical film have not yet been confirmed.

The television series, which first began streaming on Crunchyroll on January 31, 2026, follows 14 year old Anna Akechi as she travels from the year 2027 back to 1999.

In the past, Anna teams up with an aspiring detective named Mikuru to transform into the Detective Precure and solve cases involving the Phantom Thieves.
Fans can expect the film to expand on the mystery of Anna’s time travel journey when it arrives in theaters on September 18, 2026.
