Square Enix Sets Release Date for Final Fantasy X 25th Anniversary EDM Remix Album

Square Enix has officially confirmed the launch date for a unique musical release that celebrates the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy X.

The “FINAL FANTASY X – House Grooves” arrangement album brings a fresh, club-inspired spin to the classic role-playing game’s iconic soundtrack.

This audio release acts as a major component of the massive 25th-anniversary celebration for the PlayStation 2 classic, which originally launched on July 19, 2001.

The emotional story follows a star blitzball player named Tidus who is magically transported to the world of Spira after his home city of Zanarkand is destroyed.

He soon joins forces with a young summoner named Yuna and her loyal guardians, including Wakka, Lulu, Kimahri, Auron, and Rikku, on a perilous pilgrimage to defeat a colossal, recurring threat known simply as Sin.

To mark this incredible milestone, original character designer Tetsuya Nomura has created a brand new 25th-anniversary logo, which decorates much of the upcoming merchandise.

“FINAL FANTASY X – House Grooves” serves as the second entry in the developer’s ongoing deep house remix series, following previous projects that reimagined other classic titles.

Fans will experience legendary compositions completely transformed by the deep, resonant echoes of house music.

The album features a diverse lineup of contributing artists and producers, including Lonely Boy, DJ Synthesizer, Kai Saruwatari, HAIOKA, JT Donaldson, Awoke VS Electrobrain, Christian Dinh Gulino, Ai Kakihira, me-mai, Andreas Saag, Michinobu Takarada, and Terry McGowan.

Currently, the tracklist includes 12 planned arrangements, covering emotional pieces alongside famous environmental themes:

The confirmation of the album’s release date follows another recent announcement from Square Enix, with the developer unveiling a brand new Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster stationery and accessories line earlier this week.
