A teaser trailer was released today for the upcoming anime adaptation of So What’s Wrong with Getting Reborn as a Goblin?, offering a first look at the series before its scheduled broadcast in October 2026.

The video provides a preview of the fantasy world where the protagonist Akira finds himself and introduces various characters that inhabit the setting.

The main cast features Kikunosuke Toya, known for his role as Denji in Chainsaw Man, as the voice of Akira.

Yoko Hikasa, who recently voiced Carmilla in The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows, joins the cast as Karen, while Azusa Tachibana will voice the character Chloe.

The project is being directed by Ryota Kawahara at studio BAKKKA, following his work as an episode director on Dragon Ball DAIMA.

Yuichiro Momose is handling the series composition and scripts, bringing experience from the So I’m a Spider, So What? series.

The creative team also includes character designer Hiroyuki Saita and music composer Takenoko Boy, with Hiroto Morishita serving as the sound director.

The anime is based on the original manga by Nazuna Miki and Tsukasa Araki, which is published in English by Yen Press.

The story follows Akira, a former Japanese salaryman who transitions from a reincarnated goblin to a recognized member of the goblin aristocracy.

While Akira has successfully improved the standing of goblins in society, he faces opposition from four aristocratic families that have formed an anti-goblin alliance to challenge his leadership.

The narrative explores whether Akira can use his strength to navigate the complex political machinations of this new world.
