Shingeki no KyoGIN: Attack on Titan themed Japanese craft gin goes on sale

A new collaboration has seen the creation of a premium craft gin based on the popular anime series Attack on Titan.
“Attack on Titan Gin”, or Shingeki no KyoGIN, is a new premium craft gin that aims to embody the profound world of the popular anime and manga series.
Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin), based on Hajime Isayama’s manga, is a globally recognized and influential series.

It depicts humanity’s struggle for survival against giant, man-eating Titans within walled cities.
Known for its intense action, intricate plot, and exploration of themes like freedom, war, and humanity’s darker nature, the series has gained immense popularity worldwide, spawning anime, films, games, and extensive merchandise.
This latest collaboration bridges the world of fantasy storytelling with artisanal spirits, offering a unique collectible for enthusiasts.

The “Attack on Titan Gin” was conceived by gin enthusiast Takashi Ario, who partnered with Tokyo Hachioji Distillery to translate the series’ epic scope into a tasting experience.
Tokyo Hachioji Distillery, based in Hachioji City, Tokyo, has a reputation for its craft gin production, driven by its owner Shintaro Nakazawa’s commitment to quality.

The gin’s creators state that the bottle encapsulates the spirit of “freedom racing across the land and boundless adventure,” aiming to provide a moment of solace for those navigating the challenges of modern life.

The gin’s flavor profile is meticulously crafted to reflect the world of Attack on Titan:
- Top Note: A refreshing peppermint aroma, designed to evoke images of vast grasslands.
- Middle: Traditional gin spices form the core, providing a robust backbone.
- Flavor: Fresh, citrusy fruit notes that bring a “sun-like” brightness.
- Base: A smooth, rounded taste derived from the non-GMO corn-based spirit, imported from Europe.
- Finish: A dry, sharp aftertaste that leaves a rich aroma, symbolizing “a deep flavor that brings relief, even if only for a moment, after a long battle.”
The gin is produced using a classic dry gin method, carefully balancing selected natural botanicals.
“Attack on Titan Gin” has an alcohol content of 43% and comes in a 700ml bottle.

Priced at ¥6,600 (tax included) for the bottle only and ¥7,150 (tax included) with a gift box, the gin will be available via its own official online store from July the 1st.
Retail stores across Japan, such as supermarkets and discount stores that stock liquor products, are also expected to stock the new “Attack on Titan Gin” from the same date.
