SEGA STORE OSAKA Announced as Japan’s Second Permanent SEGA Store

SEGA has officially announced SEGA STORE OSAKA, revealing plans to open its second permanent retail location in Japan through a short teaser video shared on July 24, 2026.
SEGA STORE locations are dedicated to merchandise based on games and characters from across SEGA and ATLUS, giving series such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Like a Dragon and Persona a permanent space outside their usual game releases and limited-time pop-up events.

The announcement trailer places the store firmly within Osaka by featuring several recognizable parts of the city, including Dotonbori, Osaka Castle and the skyline surrounding Abeno Harukas.

SEGA has not yet confirmed exactly where SEGA STORE OSAKA will be located or when it will open, meaning fans will need to wait for a later announcement before planning a visit.

The new location will follow SEGA STORE TOKYO, which opened on the sixth floor of Shibuya PARCO on July 18, 2025, as the company’s first permanent official store in Japan.

That store launched with more than 800 products, including licensed merchandise and items exclusive to the Tokyo location, creating a substantial destination for anyone interested in SEGA and ATLUS properties.

Its current selection spans brands including Sonic the Hedgehog, Like a Dragon, Persona and Angry Birds, alongside SEGA-themed products that draw upon the company’s wider history.

While SEGA has not revealed the Osaka merchandise lineup, the approach taken by its other stores suggests that location-exclusive products, purchase bonuses and interactive features could form part of the experience, although these details remain unconfirmed.

SEGA’s permanent retail expansion actually began outside Japan with SEGA STORE SHANGHAI, which opened inside the Bailian ZX shopping mall on May 1, 2025 as the first official SEGA STORE in the world.

The Shanghai location combines locally inspired original merchandise with interactive content and photo opportunities, showing how each store can offer more than shelves filled with familiar character goods.

SEGA STORE BEIJING then opened at Chaoyang Joy City on July 18, 2026, becoming the company’s third permanent store worldwide and its second location in China.

Alongside products also sold in Shanghai, the Beijing store introduced locally exclusive SEGA and ATLUS merchandise, game demo stations and additional attractions designed specifically for the new location.

Osaka has hosted SEGA merchandise before through a temporary Shinsaibashi PARCO pop-up in 2024, but SEGA STORE OSAKA will give the city its first permanent store dedicated to the company and its major franchises.

Further information about the opening date, location, merchandise, and possible store-exclusive items is expected to be announced at a later stage.
