Sanrio Reveals New Pompompurin 30th Anniversary Jewelry Collab Collection
ANNA SUI and Sanrio are expanding their celebratory Pompompurin 30th anniversary collaboration with a new seven-piece jewelry collection that gives the normally laid-back golden retriever a more formal gothic-style makeover.
The new “ANNA SUI x POMPOMPURIN” jewelry range combines Pompompurin with the fashion brand’s signature black and purple colors, butterfly motifs and darker detailing across necklaces, earrings and a ring.
A specially designed top hat decorated with a rose appears throughout the jewelry, adding more of ANNA SUI’s gothic styling while still keeping Pompompurin the focus of the collection.
Some of the designs also make playful use of his famous “butt mark,” with the more sophisticated anniversary outfit not completely outshining Pompompurin’s humorous side.
Both clip-on earrings and pierced earrings are included in the collection, with each version priced at ¥20,900 (approximately $137 USD / £102 GBP).
The earrings combine Pompompurin’s softly rounded face with his new rose-decorated top hat and ANNA SUI’s black and purple butterfly imagery on one side, with the other recreating his rear view and signature marking.
A bracelet, priced at ¥18,700 (approximately $123 USD / £91 GBP), places Pompompurin’s face at the center of the design, once again using the top hat to bring the collaboration’s more formal styling into a piece intended for everyday wear.
The largest necklace in the range is priced at ¥28,600 (approximately $188 USD / £139 GBP), while a separate short necklace costs ¥17,600 (approximately $116 USD / £86 GBP).
The shorter design uses a three-dimensional Pompompurin face wearing the collaboration’s top hat as its main charm, with floral detailing incorporated into the chain to add another ANNA SUI touch.
A ring, priced at ¥20,900 (approximately $137 USD / £102 GBP), takes a slightly different approach by pairing Pompompurin with his hamster friend Muffin, placing the two characters together beneath the rose-decorated top hat.
Rounding out the jewelry is an ear cuff priced at ¥17,600 (approximately $116 USD / £86 GBP), which uses Pompompurin’s face and the same top hat motif in a more compact design.
The jewelry forms part of Pompompurin’s first collaboration with ANNA SUI, which was created to celebrate the Sanrio character’s 30th anniversary after his original debut in 1996.
A wider collection has already introduced the same more formally dressed version of Pompompurin across a drawstring tote bag, tuck shoulder bag, mini shoulder bag, a face pouch charm and an iPhone case.
ANNA SUI has also expanded the collaboration across other categories including handkerchiefs, pouches and tote bags, making the new jewelry one part of a much larger anniversary range built around the same character artwork.
The new “ANNA SUI x POMPOMPURIN” jewelry collection is now available in Japan through ANNA SUI accessory counters at department stores nationwide, the official ANNA SUI web store and selected Sanrio stores.
Participating locations include the Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro and Odakyu Department Store Shinjuku, while availability at individual Sanrio stores may begin at different times.
Early purchases will also be presented in a special collaboration box while supplies last.
