Dragon Ball Z and Ibanez Reveal First-Ever Official Guitar Collab Collection

Dragon Ball Z is teaming up with Japanese guitar brand Ibanez for a huge new collection of playable instruments, music gear, and apparel featuring Goku, Vegeta, and other fan favorites from the anime.
The “Ibanez × DRAGON BALL Z” collaboration spans electric guitars, an electric bass, a ukulele, a piccolo guitar, a special Tube Screamer, guitar accessories, and clothing, with the complete range set for a worldwide rollout in 2027.

Ibanez has built the project around the shared importance of training, drawing a connection between Dragon Ball Z’s constant pursuit of greater strength and the practice required for musicians to master their instruments and continue improving.
Across the full collection, Ibanez draws on a wide range of Dragon Ball Z characters and imagery, from Goku and Gohan flying together on the Japanese-made RG to Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza, Cell, and Kid Buu appearing elsewhere across the instruments and accessories.

Let’s take a look at the full collection!
- “Electric Guitar – Made in Japan”

The collection’s premium instrument is a Japanese-made model from Ibanez’s flagship RG series, pairing an orange body with a black pickguard carrying white artwork of Goku and Gohan flying through the sky.

It uses an ultra-thin five-piece maple and walnut Super Wizard neck, an Edge tremolo bridge, and Gotoh machine heads.

Each guitar also comes with exclusive picks and a strap, plus a hardshell case with a special design plate and certificate of authenticity.

- “Electric Guitar”

Goku takes over Ibanez’s more accessible electric guitar with a full-color illustration on one side of the body and his Super Saiyan form rendered in grayscale on the other, while Shenron is engraved onto its single bridge humbucker.

The model also uses a slim maple neck and T106 tremolo bridge, with its simplified setup designed to remain approachable for newer players.

- “Electric Bass”

Vegeta receives a similarly styled bass built around his transformation into a Super Saiyan, combining full-color and grayscale artwork across the body.

A slim maple neck, single humbucker, and straightforward B10 bridge give the model a simple setup intended to remain accessible to players of different experience levels.

- “Ukulele”

The concert-sized ukulele moves away from the collection’s battle imagery with artwork of Kame House and Goku and Kid Gohan flying overhead on the Flying Nimbus.

Side sound ports are designed to direct more of the instrument’s sound toward the player, while an onboard preamp allows it to be connected to an amplifier or recording equipment.

A built-in tuner is also included.
- “Piccolo Guitar”

Ibanez gives the compact, higher-pitched piccolo guitar a Piccolo-inspired design built around his “Demon” symbol.

Like the ukulele, it uses side sound ports alongside an onboard preamp and built-in tuner.

- “Tube Screamer”

Ibanez’s classic TS808 overdrive pedal receives its own Dragon Ball Z edition with an original collaboration logo and a special one-star LED.

The pedal also comes in exclusive packaging with limited-edition stickers created for the collaboration.
- “Bag for Electric Guitar”

The POWERPAD guitar bag takes its design cues from the Kame School martial arts uniform.

Approximately 15mm of cushioning around the bottom and sides helps protect the guitar during transport, while an internal neck strap holds the instrument in place.

Four storage pockets provide room for cables, sheet music, tablets and other equipment.
- “Straps”

Two adjustable guitar and bass straps will be available, including a blue design carrying the classic Dragon Ball Z logo and another featuring Shenron alongside the Ibanez logo.
Both use durable polyester bodies with leather ends and can be extended to approximately 170cm.
- “Picks”

Seven 1mm celluloid picks use Ibanez’s short teardrop shape and feature Super Saiyan Goku, Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, Piccolo, Super Saiyan Vegeta, Frieza, Perfect Cell, and Kid Buu.

The Dragon Ball Z logo is printed on the reverse of each design.

- “Guitar Cloth”

The washable 30cm x 30cm microfiber cloth incorporates Goku and the Flying Nimbus into Ibanez’s V-shaped brand mark.
Its soft material is designed to remove fingerprints and dirt from painted surfaces and metal hardware without scratching them.
- “T-shirts”

Two 100% cotton T-shirts complete the range, with one featuring Goku and the Flying Nimbus and the other focusing on Frieza.

Both use original artwork created for the collaboration and incorporate Ibanez’s V mark into their designs.

The new Ibanez project follows another major international Dragon Ball Z collaboration in 2026, with Converse previously releasing an official collection of sneakers and apparel featuring Goku, Vegeta, Shenron, and several of the anime’s major villains.

Dragon Ball Z has also moved further into functional lifestyle products through collaborations such as BYZOOM FITNESS’ officially licensed workout collection, which brought characters including Frieza and Majin Buu to weights and recovery equipment earlier this year.
