Sanrio Launches New Official Color Contact Lens Collection Starring Hello Kitty and Friends
Sanrio has teamed up with Japanese color contact brand en Giorno for a new five-design collection that hides tiny motifs inspired by Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Pochacco and Kuromi inside each lens.
The “Sanrio Characters x en Giorno 1day” collection uses colors associated with each character alongside the asymmetrical highlights found in en Giorno’s marble-inspired series, creating a sparkling effect across the eyes.
Its character details have deliberately been kept small, allowing the lenses to look like regular colored contacts from a distance before revealing their individual motifs when viewed more closely.
Each design takes a different combination of color and imagery from its Sanrio character, covering everything from Hello Kitty’s apples to Kuromi’s familiar skull.
- Hello Kitty – Pink highlights with an apple motif
- Cinnamoroll – Sky blue highlights with a cinnamon roll motif
- Pompompurin – Cream brown highlights with a bone-shaped snack motif
- Pochacco – Silver gray highlights with a carrot motif
- Kuromi – Purple highlights with a skull motif
All five are daily disposable lenses, with each box containing 10 contacts and prescription options available alongside non-prescription versions.
The character styling continues onto the packaging, with separate designs created for the exterior and inside of each box using the colors and motifs assigned to its respective character.
The new contacts arrive during a recent run of Sanrio beauty releases, including sanrio house’s first official cosmetics collection, which launched this week with eye shadow, lipstick, eyeliner, highlighter and lip gloss inspired by Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, My Sweet Piano and Cinnamoroll.
My Melody and Kuromi have recently appeared across another beauty collaboration with Cosme Kitchen, spanning cosmetics, skincare, hair accessories and wellness products from several of the retailer’s brands.

As colored contact lenses are regulated medical devices, Sanrio and SHOBIDO advise users to receive an eye examination and professional guidance before wearing them.
