Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A gets Switch 2 console bundle as early purchase bonuses announced
The Pokémon Company has announced that a special, limited-edition hardware bundle will be released for the upcoming game, Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A.
The announcement was made during a “Pokémon Presents” broadcast held on Tuesday, the 22nd of July, which also revealed a number of new characters and a significant new Mega Evolution that will appear in the game.
The new product is a set that includes a “Nintendo Switch 2” console and a special download version of the game, titled the “Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.”
Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A is the next major installment in the Pokémon franchise, following in the footsteps of the successful and critically praised Pokémon LEGENDS: Arceus.
The new game is set in a futuristic version of Lumiose City from the Kalos region and sees the return of the popular “Mega Evolution” gameplay mechanic.
In addition to the hardware bundle, early purchase bonuses for the game itself were also revealed.
Players who purchase the game early will receive a special Ralts that is holding a Gardevoirite.
The Gardevoirite is a Mega Stone that allows Ralts’ final evolution, Gardevoir, to Mega Evolve in battle.
Those who purchase the digital download version of the game will also receive an additional bonus of 100 Poké Balls.
The new hardware bundle is described as being a limited-quantity production and information regarding pre-orders for the special edition set has not yet been released.
The “Nintendo Switch 2 Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A Edition Set” is priced at ¥53,980/ $499.99 USD, with both the standard game and the limited-edition console bundle scheduled to be released on Thursday, the 16th of October, 2025.
