Persona’s Protagonists Inspire New Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Sake Collection
Persona is raising a glass to its 30th anniversary with a new collection of limited-edition sake inspired by the protagonists and worlds of the first five mainline games.
Created in collaboration with Japanese sake brand HINEMOS, the “HINEMOS x P30th edition” consists of five specially developed drinks representing Persona, Persona 2, Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5, with each bottle featuring artwork of the corresponding protagonists.
The collection celebrates a series that began with Revelations: Persona in 1996 before evolving into one of Atlus’ most successful RPG franchises, combining everyday school life, friendships and relationships with supernatural stories built around the manifestation of a person’s inner self as a Persona.
HINEMOS was founded in 2019 around the concept of time, with its regular sake taking names such as SHICHIJI and HACHIJI to represent different hours of the day, creating a natural connection with a series where the passage and management of time has become an important part of several games.
This is not the first time HINEMOS has teamed up with Persona, with one previous collection based on Persona 5 Royal introducing original sake inspired by Joker, Violet and Crow alongside an exclusive Morgana mini bottle included with the complete set.
That was followed by a Persona 5: The Phantom X tasting collection in 2026, featuring three smaller bottles inspired by Wonder, Phoebe and a meeting between Joker and Wonder, alongside an exclusive collaboration shot glass.
For the 30th anniversary collection, HINEMOS has created completely original sake rather than simply repackaging drinks from its existing lineup, with the flavor, appearance and alcohol content of each one developed around its respective game.
The Persona 1 edition, priced at ¥6,600 (approximately $43 USD / £32 GBP), is a 13% ABV Junmai Daiginjo designed to reflect the heavier atmosphere of the original game, beginning with a rich body and strong umami before finishing with a sharper dry character.
Persona 2 takes a very different approach with an 8% ABV nigori sake at the same ¥6,600 (approximately $43 USD / £32 GBP) price, using the cloudy appearance of the drink to reference a world where rumors can become reality.
Its softer texture is joined by a fuller rice flavor and sweetness before developing into a more substantial finish, giving the second bottle its own personality rather than simply changing the artwork.
The Persona 3 edition is also priced at ¥6,600 (approximately $43 USD / £32 GBP) and features both of the game’s male and female protagonists across its bottle design.
Its 15% ABV dry sake takes inspiration from the stillness of the Dark Hour, starting with a clean profile before developing a deeper umami flavor and finishing with a sharpness intended to recall the silence of night.
Persona 4’s bottle transforms the Investigation Team’s brighter coming-of-age story into a 5% ABV sweet sparkling sake priced at ¥6,600 (approximately $43 USD / £32 GBP).
The drink combines a fruity and sweet-tart opening with lively carbonation and a clean finish, reflecting both the colorful identity of Persona 4 and the friendships at the center of its story.
Persona 5 completes the lineup with a vivid red sake inspired by the Phantom Thieves, once again priced at ¥6,600 (approximately $43 USD / £32 GBP).
The 10% ABV drink opens with noticeable sweetness and stronger acidity before finishing with a cleaner, more refined aftertaste, while its red appearance ties directly into the color most closely associated with Persona 5.
The bottles themselves have also been designed as collectibles, with the protagonist artwork applied directly to the glass using silk-screen printing rather than conventional adhesive labels.
This means the artwork will remain in place after the empty bottles have been washed, allowing them to be kept as display pieces or reused as decorative bottles or vases.
A complete five-bottle set is available for ¥29,700 (approximately $192 USD / £143 GBP), bringing together all five 500ml varieties while reducing the combined cost compared with buying them individually.
The complete set also includes five exclusive glass markers based on the individual bottle designs, with one representing each Persona title, and domestic shipping within Japan is included.
Reservations for the limited-quantity “HINEMOS x P30th edition” collection are now open through the official HINEMOS online store.
Orders are expected to be delivered from early December 2026, although individual bottles and complete sets may sell out once their allocated quantities have been reserved.
