Persona Goes Portable Once Again for New 30th Anniversary Fragrance Collection

Atlus is celebrating 30 years of Persona with a new portable fragrance collection that translates five generations of the RPG series into scents designed around the atmosphere and themes of each game.
The Persona series began in 1996 with Revelations: Persona, originally released in Japan as Megami Ibunroku Persona, before growing from a Shin Megami Tensei spin-off into one of Atlus’ biggest franchises through games that combine supernatural RPG battles with increasingly prominent social and everyday-life elements.

Created in collaboration with Japanese fragrance brand Anideal, the new collection consists of five paper fragrances spanning the original Persona through Persona 5 Royal, with each designed for use around the home, inside a car or anywhere else fans want to add its scent.

The “P30th P1 Paper Fragrance” represents the original Persona with a sweet opening built around black cherry and plum before transitioning toward rose, creating a scent that moves from rich fruit into a softer floral character.

Second up is the “P30th P2 Paper Fragrance,” combining Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment within a heavier fragrance centered around amber, spice, and woody notes that reflects the darker atmosphere shared by the two connected games.

Third is the “P30th P3 Paper Fragrance,” taking its inspiration from Persona 3 Reload and pairing white tea and gentle floral notes with lemon and musk, balancing the game’s recurring themes of mortality and fleeting everyday life with a cleaner scent intended to suggest hope.

The “P30th P4 Paper Fragrance” represents Persona 4 Golden through an opening combination of bergamot and angelica, followed by rose and sage before patchouli and sandalwood create a calmer woody finish.

Finally, the “P30th P5 Paper Fragrance” draws from Persona 5 Royal with rich berry and grape-like fruit notes layered with a slight bitterness before developing into a deeper woody scent, fitting the stylish presentation and rebellious identity associated with the Phantom Thieves.

Each of the five Persona 30th anniversary paper fragrances is priced at ¥990 (approx. $7 USD / £5 GBP).
Sales are scheduled to begin on August 17, 2026 via Anideal’s official online store from 12:00 PM JST, with the collection also set to be available through general retailers like pharmacy chain Matsumoto Kiyoshi.
